Got a shock yesterday, a customer showed me a tank he bought at a garage sale with a M25 Valve was jammed into a 3/4” X 14 tpi NPSM scuba tank thread!

Engineering is my Trade, exact science based.
- the referance “Cyber Divers” is a worry,
There are trained skilled Technical Divers and those experts who have all the theoretical knowledge from the internet!

If you don’t know - don’t fiddle! Ask a Tradesman not a Computer Nerd!

Scuba Tank valves “may” explode out of the Scuba Tank if the incorrect size valve is fitted.

Hydro Test Stations - are required to fully inspect the Scuba Tank, confirm the Neck Thread and Valve thread is with in Engineering Tolerances.

Just like the the Scuba Fill valve using a Low Pressure brass fitting designed to operate at 100 psi - when the fill valve was working at 4000 psi

Things that go bang in the middle of the night Beware !

I am surprised that with so many Ho**ah compressors available that no one has scooped up this bargain -
Nice colour paint, has a safety guard, filters, safety valve, air receiver, good old Silica Gel filter - may start with a bit of start ya bastard, don’t worry about a bit of rust in the air - just spit it out! Or the Carbon monoxide you can’t smell it.
Save a bit of money just plug in an old garden hose saves paying for expensive divers hose and Tema fittings.
Oh nearly forgot the Oil in the Compressor is yellow that’s only a bit of water!!

Buyer Beware - Ignorance Kills!!!

Why choose Bauer Compressors ?

I choose them because they pride themselves in quality of product, serviceability and most important
Customer service - and longevity!

I sometimes service another brand of compressors, generally that are OK
but not very good in design compared to German engineering.

For example Bauer use a one piece cast iron crank shaft and cast iron oil pump
I have Never found any Faults they work 100%

This other mob use in their larger model a Gear Pump in a alluminium housing driven by a small lug measuring 8mm x 4mm from the rear end bearing mount “ markes as a NU305” bearing mount - this is cheap and a poor design.

They do use 2 x roller bearings to support the crankshaft but the rear end of the crank has a bearing mounting lug which is “35mm dia” this is not part of the crankshaft but seperate extension piece is only held in place by a 4mm roll pin - with wear it floats about as the compressor turns over it is not “pressed on” causing the flywheel bearing to wear and the Oil Seal leak Oil every where! - a common fault!

Now my issue is the agent of this compressor with challanging customer service wants to supply a Spare part Bearing Bearing marked as a
NU 305 with the inner shell removed to operate it measures “34mm dia”
It wont - fit!!!! on the 35mm Lug!

I have found another way to fix this delemma, i never have issues with Bauer like this - the reason why Bauer are the Best!

A number of customers have over the years enquired about using a Generator to supply the power to their Bauer /Poseidon PE 100 Compressors.

There is a alternative - my “Quick Changer Over Modification”

I have been doing this for over 15 years, when done it takes 3 X minutes to remove and swap between the Electric Drive Motor to a Petrol Motor, I use Chonda motors but happy to use a genuine Honda.

Or purchase a generator

A happy customer, excited to operate his new compressor which I fully overhauled and gave it a new life, full tanks - no more dodgy 190 bar! fills
While there is expense which it is not cheap, with annual maintenance and following safe operating procedures self reliance is assured

I have just rebuilt an older Bauer Compressor, the poor oldie has never let the owner down, he changes the oil and filters regularly, I cringed on seeing its condition after 20 years of service.
- 16 years ago he bought a Italian Compressor as a back up compressor when Air fills were flat out - I just scrapped this Compressor the main shaft bearings were very worn, then it suddenly went bang!
after the 1st stage bearings collapsed the Oil was full of metal and grey mud!
Bauer use Roller bearings not cheap ball bearings! that don’t last.
His old Bauer compressor i replaced the old bearings, rings and a final stage piston this was all that was needed apart from a nice paint job - back in service cost him @$3K

Cost = long term V Cheaper investment = short term and a lot of breakdown repairs - interstage O rings that keep blowing, oil leaks, SAE fittings that are always leaking, flexable gauge hoses that blow, worn fly wheel bearings and oil seal replaced every couple of years, rusty cabnets, soundproof material that are saturated in oil, Noisy, always Issues!

Buy a Bloody Bauer ! Or a Poseidon!

Ps, 40 % - 50% Sale Discount on Now
Or until older stock runs out

Look at this thing it’s made in “Germany” by engineers not assembled from cheap die cast and cheap cast iron bits by those who don’t care?

Bauer is in our DNA
