Another Legend Has Fallen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our founders — the creator of the IFS Machine Shop — Paul “Bam Bam” Cade.

Paul passed away on the 28th of September from a heart attack, shortly after watching his beloved Broncos secure their place in another grand final.

Paul will be forever remembered. His legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew him.

Thank you, Paul.

A memorial for Paul William Cade will be held on the 6/10/25 at the Rocklea showgrounds from 3:00 pm.

Farewell to Lionel Kuhn

Today, we said goodbye to not just a business associate, but a dear friend to many within our organisation. Lionel Kuhn was laid to rest, and we gathered to celebrate the life of a man who left a lasting mark on all who knew him. Our paths crossed more than 20 years ago and we wouldn't be where we are today without your knowledge and guidance for our manufacturing.

Lionel was blunt, honest, and never afraid of the truth — and that’s what made him so respected. In tough times, like during the floods, he was always there to assist us front and centre, making sure our operations could resume with minimal disruption.

Lionel brought that same no-nonsense integrity to every part of his life. Beneath the tough exterior was a sharp wit, fierce loyalty, and a deep sense of responsibility to those around him.

Working with Lionel meant being challenged, striving for perfection, and always operating with authenticity. We are grateful for the time we shared and for the unique relationship he fostered — one that extended well beyond the typical customer-supplier dynamic.

Rest easy, Lionel. Your legacy lives on in your family and in the many lives you touched.

An Eventful Evening at IFS – A Shout out to Great People

We had an unexpected incident tonight when a customer experienced a fall in our front counter area just before closing. Thankfully, after a 2.5-hour wait for an ambulance (a reflection of just how stretched our emergency services are), he was given the all clear - just a bit sore, but no serious injuries. We’re very relieved.

During that time, I had the chance to get to know him and his story and he's certainly led a full life in business through many different facets and industries.
