Now that the dust has settled I'd like to introduce you to the new Okuma MU-5000v. It's a beast of a machine. Some of the important details-

5 axis simultaneous, X800, Y1050
Max feedrate is 50m/min (same a rapid)
Almost 20 tons
1000psi through spindle coolant
Matrix tool cabinet 132 tools 😳
Through table pneumatics/hydraulics
Lots of automation options for the future.
Pallet changer option without the pallet changer, this enables us to robot load the machine from the rear, rather than the front door.

Like I said, beast mode 🦍💪 it's been a 9 month wait but it's finally here.

Having Japan withdrawals after our whirlwind trip to Okuma headquarters in Nagoya. Such a great experience, seeing the scale of Japanese precision engineering was incredible and cementing why we choose Okuma as our manufacturing partner. Little update on our CNC monitor.....

had a great idea. Let's get the CNC Monitor to turn off the compressor.
Now when the last guy leaves at night and there are still machines running, they can tick the box and after a preset time of inactivity the app will turn the air compressor off.

We've got so many parts being processed in our robot cell at the moment that space is constantly a problem. Storing parts or benches just doesn't cut it these days. We always joke about going vertical but it really is the only way to go.
This issue came up in our monthly meetings and the team came up with this solution and actioned it with very little input from management. Well down guys!
