To say we here at S&J Morrison are upset about AJ’s passing is an understatement. We will miss working with him, laughing with him but most of all we will miss him as a friend😔 Rest easy AJ. Have a drink with Doubles for us
Dear members and friends of Lake George District.
Late yesterday we received the tragic news that District Officer, Adrian (AJ) Lee passed away suddenly while attending a training course in Sydney.
AJ started his volunteer career with the NSW Rural Fire Service in 1994 as a member of Captains Flat Brigade and throughout his time as a volunteer was also an active member of the Lake George Operational Support Group and Queanbeyan City Brigade.
However, it was in his role as a salaried staff member initially as the Lake George District Administration Officer in 2003 and more recently as a District Officer that he made his biggest impact. His years of dedication to our volunteers and community not only in the Lake George District can be measured in the outpouring of collective grief from those who had the privilege of working with him as news broke this morning.
It was in the specialist area of aviation and firefighting that AJ made his biggest contribution. His involvement in developing the skillset, mentoring and training countless members in this area was instrumental in developing this key capability for the Service.
His loss is being felt very deeply by his friends and colleagues within the District today and from friends and colleagues across the NSW Rural Fire Service and all agencies in the broader emergency services community.
AJ represented the very best of what makes our Service so special, always going above and beyond for our members and workmates.
In line with the wishes of AJ’s family, we will be working through the details for his memorial service and will pass on those details as they come to hand.
