Across many recent projects, we’ve seen an increasing use of skylights across all states. They’re often a smart response to privacy and hence daylight constraints, particularly on suburban sites.

This was also the case in our most recent installation in Cardiff Heights last week, once again demonstrating how natural light paired with KLH®️ – CLT timber creates a beautiful, homely, and liveable space – the custom-made, seamlessly-integrating skylights are fabricated from matching European Spruce glulam timber, offering a binocular to Australia’s beautiful sky – day & night.

In many of our projects we’ve worked closely with RAICO Pacific to ensure a seamless installation of the KLH®️ – CLT base construction together with complex skylight-solutions.

Excited to share insights from our recent residential project in Cardiff Heights, set on a beautiful 3,200 m² site backing onto lush rainforest 🌿

Over 4 days, our team of 5 CLT experts installed 59 tonnes of KLH®️ – CLT, forming an elegant structure in combination with concrete, steel and glass for a north-facing, very private four-bedroom family home.

The home and its infinity pool were designed to work with and around the natural landscape rather than against it. A highlight of the project was thoughtfully constructing everything to safeguard two mature trees – an iconic macadamia nut tree and a healthy mango tree – ensuring they both remained unharmed throughout the build and continue to be a central feature of both the site and the home 🥭

Spanning 2,000 m² and storing 442 tonnes of carbon, this innovative school features flexible learning spaces and demonstrates the power of timber in creating sustainable, high-performance buildings.

We’ve now 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the KLH®️ – CLT mass timber structure – an incredible achievement involving 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿. Some fine-tuning still to come, but the structure is now ready to be handed over to the next contractors for the interior fit-out, preparing the spaces for students to enjoy.
This project is set to become 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗖𝗟𝗧 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 – a true benchmark in sustainable education design.

Featuring KLH®️ – CLT post-and-beam structures, newly developed quick-click connectors by Hilti and Rothoblaas, triple-glazed timber windows, a full timber façade, and more than 1,000 m² of green roof, this building embodies innovation at every level and demonstrates that sustainable construction goes beyond using regenerative building materials for the structure, such as KLH®️ – CLT. Inside, it will host flexible learning spaces, a new library, STEM areas, and an auditorium – all within a healthy, low-energy environment.
It’s been a privilege to make this carbon-negative design by Knut Menden come to life. Huge thanks to everyone involved in bringing this visionary project to its next stage!

Many months of planning have paid off! 👷‍♂️ One of our largest projects to date is now in installation – a five-week process – and it’s set to break several Australian records in mass timber construction.

The New Hoskins Building at The Illawarra Grammar School (TIGS) ( ), Wollongong spans 2000 m² across two storeys, including an auditorium. It will be:

How does one best design a space that is adaptable and adjusts to the users’ changing needs? Our clients have decided to divide their new 190 m² 4-bedroom CLT Passivhaus residence in Braidwood into two internal “comfort zones”. The main part of the KLH® – CLT house – which will be the clients’ main living space - will be built and operated to Passivhaus Standard, while the second part – a guest wing – will be able to be closed off as a non-conditioned space while not in use.

This approach will allow for the building to adapt to its changing needs in a dynamic manner, with ultra-low running costs. KLH® – CLT offers a perfect construction methodology for such Passivhaus buildings thanks to the inherent thermal mass of the CLT elements.
