Another truckload of towers have landed for our Coe Hire fleet! 😄

This week, Locky jumped in the truck and headed over to PR Power in Melbourne to collect another batch of light towers - at least it wasn't bucketing down with rain like when he picked up last month's batch.

These units arrive as a clean skin and then the real work begins. Back in our Port Pirie workshop, the team gets to work carrying out electrical and cosmetic modifications to prepare them for the demands of mine site operations.

We've chosen to continue investing in PR Power Power's trailered Eco Light Towers because our original units have proven themselves time and time again in harsh mining environments. Their efficient LED lighting, automatic operation, portability and reliability make them an ideal solution for remote and demanding worksites.

Before long, these towers will be lighting up jobs at Olympic Dam and beyond.

What a result at Finke Desert Race for the Bentley Motorsports team.

Our founder Viv has just returned from Finke, where he navigated for Hayden Bentley in car 818 Extreme 4WD, coming away with an incredible 3rd overall podium finish and 2nd in class.

This is a massive achievement in one of Australia’s toughest off-road races, and a reflection of the preparation, teamwork and mechanical reliability needed to get a car there and back.

Viv plays a key role not only in the navigator’s seat, but also behind the scenes — planning, preparing and helping run the mechanical side of the race vehicles. This year there were three vehicles racing with the Coe name on them, which is something we are very proud to be part of.

Our motto **Your Operation. Our Commitment.** rings true on site and on the track.

A huge congratulations also to Hayden’s kids, Sam and Hannah, who both took on Finke and made it home, with Sam finishing 20th and Hannah 21st. Both had mechanical challenges along the way, but getting three cars through the race and back again is a huge team effort.

We are proud to support people who take on big challenges, push through tough conditions and get the job done — on the track and off it.

Congratulations to Hayden and Viv, Sam and Ben, Hannah and Scott, and of course Kylie — the heart of the team — along with everyone who worked behind the scenes to get all three cars there and back. An amazing result and a huge team effort.

The Coe fam recently had the chance to attend the Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo in Sydney — checking out the latest gear, catching up with industry suppliers, and doing a little bit of shopping along the way.

We’re excited to be adding a few more capabilities to the Coe team and look forward to sharing more soon.

And being a racing family, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to make a stop at Eastern Creek for some karting — definitely a highlight for us all.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working on-site as part of our Olympic Dam crew, carrying out:

✔ Supporting a team that gets in and gets the job done properly

✔ Reliable, practical and takes pride in their work
✔ Able to work safely and meet site requirements
✔ A good fit for a close-knit team
✔ Holding a current Australian driver’s licence

Minimum 5+ years’ experience is preferred, but attitude, reliability and the right fit matter too.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys responsibility, working with people, and keeping systems, schedules, and site operations running smoothly. You’ll work closely with our technicians and leadership team and will need to understand, or be willing to learn, the machinery and equipment we manage, so you can confidently organise parts, maintenance schedules, and site requirements.

Meet Alice 👋

Alice has been part of our team for nearly a decade and has truly grown with the business. Starting as a casual at Coe's Auto Electrical, she’s now our Office Manager and the ultimate all-rounder — keeping on top of banking, payroll, accounts, parts ordering, freight, warranties… and plenty more behind the scenes.

Recently, Alice joined us on site at Olympic Dam for our Off Tools Day, where she jumped straight in, scribing for our techs during a tool count and wish list session for our service vehicles.

In our Port Pirie office, Alice loves a Coke and a good chat, and on the weekends you’ll find her bike riding with her family 🚴‍♀️
