Yes! It can affect the pH and Alkalinity.

Depending on your pool and equipment, the pH target range for swimming pools is typically 7.2 to 7.6. This range is excepted as being balanced; neither acidic (low pH) or alkaline (high pH). Pure rainwater has a pH of 5.3, which is acidic.

This means that when a decent amount of rainwater falls in your pool, your pH will be lowered. It is important to note that your Total Alkalinity level will also be reduced to a degree. As the name suggests, Total Alkalinity is measurement of all dissolved alkali in the water, so if you add something acidic to your pool, this will in turn affect this level.

Rainwater does vary in pH, especially with pollutants in the atmosphere, but the average pH of rainwater in Australia is between 5.0 to 6.0. So, after a decent rainfall, get your water checked and back in balance.
