As we round out the week, we take you behind the scenes of what has been a busy few days with members of the and .energy teams undertaking final functional testing of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at our Perth facility.

Once complete the BESS units will be transported to Broome for Installation, Commissioning, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), ensuring that they perform as planned for their operational life.

Last Friday saw us round out a busy week as we farewelled two large scale 1MW/2MWh Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) from our Perth facility.

The BESS underwent final preparations and testing before making the long journey to WA’s North-West to an existing Power Station facility where they will be integrated and commissioned with a host of critical operational infrastructure.

We look forward to final acceptance testing, commissioning, and handover for another one of our valuable clients.

Excitement a plenty at our testing facility yesterday as we receive shipment of the first of several BT Energy engineered Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in readiness for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). Once FAT is complete the Energy Storage Systems will make the journey to various regional towns within Western Australia for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Commissioning and Handover to one of our high-profile clients.

BT Energy are proud to announce it has begun installation of a combined Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for head construction contractor EMCO Building on Stirling Capital Treehouse - All You Want in Jolimont development in Jolimont, Perth, Western Australia.

BT Energy were awarded the contract mid-year, and with the apartment building recently topping out, installation is underway.

The system will feature a 25kW roof-mounted Solar PV array consisting of 500Watt Trina Solar PV panels on a Clenergy AUS & NZ SolarRoof mounting system, and six Triple Power Batteries (designed and manufactured in partnership with SolaX Power Solax Power Australia) providing 34.8kWh of storage capacity.

The system will support common area energy needs, thereby reducing the reliance on retail energy supply and associated utility bills.

This supports our already robust Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) policies and management plans; and compliments our alignment with Standards Australia and ISO - International Organization for Standardization

We were privileged to meet Australian political and parliamentary royalty yesterday as the Governor of Western Australia, The Honourable Kim Beazley AC (Government House Western Australia) and other dignitaries toured the 670kWh BT Energy Battery Energy Storage System at East Village Fremantle; as part of a wider tour of active development projects in the Fremantle area.

The 670kWh community-scale residential battery at East Village Fremantle, Western Australia (designed, engineered, procured, constructed and commissioned by BT Energy) makes another news appearance as part of the RENeW Nexus Project reporting update. The next stages of RENeW Nexus Project reporting will look to provide updated insights and analysis on the battery and associated energy trading.

A solar energy trading trial run by blockchain startup Power Ledger has found its initiative to be "technically feasible."

BT Energy are proud to announce a Joint Venture with to form Connected Communities Energy (CCE), delivering unique energy micro-grid solutions to built-form developments (https://bit.ly/2LsUULi).

CCE micro-grid solutions are anticipated to derive at least 80% of energy from Solar PV, reducing the reliance on utility grid energy consumption. With the inclusion of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), micro-grid solutions are able to store excess Solar System generation not utilised during sunlight hours, provide back-up power (capacity to replace traditional back methods), the ability to arbitrage on lower power tariffs (i.e. charging the BESS at a lower night time tariff) and the future potential to export power back to the grid.

Using new blockchain technology, CCE micro-grid solutions will have the ability to report how much energy each apartment consumes, the source of energy consumed and the ability for residents to energy trade.

BT Energy were proud to be a major sponsor of Charity Golf Day 2019 held at Darwin Golf Club in August of this year.

It was Darwin International Airport's 13th Annual Charity Golf Day with the fundraising recipient being . A total of $60,000 was raised and will help the Northern Territory arm of Save The Children to fit out two Sprinter Vans with storage, vocational technology, education supplies, water supplies and purchase a support vehicle to bring families to their two flagship programs – Out Teach Mobile Education and Play 2 Learn.
