After breaking new ground for Ranger, Rig 10 has officially returned to WA following our first operations in Queensland.

Although the project wrapped up a little later than planned due to adverse weather conditions, the successful mobilisation of equipment and personnel across Australia was a huge achievement for the team.

With the support of several Perenti Drilling Services units, the project was delivered safely and successfully, and Rig 10 is now back home and ready for the next challenge.

A great effort by everyone involved.

Day in the life of: On the job

Ever wondered what a day on site really looks like?

Early starts, long days, dust, noise, and a crew that gets stuck in and gets the job done.

It’s not always easy, but it’s real, it’s rewarding, and no two days are the same.

If you can see yourself out here, we’re hiring.

We're hiring.

We’re looking for people who are ready to be part of a strong crew out on site.

This isn’t just about filling roles — it’s about joining a team that works together, values safety and takes pride in getting the job done properly.

From starting out on the ground to leading from the front — this is what progression really looks like.

We caught up with Brett Stamp, our Operations Manager, to talk about his journey on site — where he started, what he’s learned, and what’s kept him here.

Brett began with us in 2008 on a small exploration project — long days, cold night shifts, and remote work with little contact with family and friends. Like many starting out, he questioned if he’d made the right call. But he gave himself six months to commit — and that decision changed everything.

From bush-based caravan jobs to the Kimberley, Brett found his stride, building confidence, capability, and strong connections with his crew.

An unexpected opportunity saw him step up into a driller role — and he took it.

From there, his career continued to grow:
Driller → Supervisor → Superintendent → Operations Manager

Along the way, there were moments of doubt — even considering walking away — but backing himself (and having the right people around him) made all the difference.

Today, Brett leads a team that supports crews across the field, with a strong focus on safety and performance.

Careers out here aren’t just jobs — they’re built over time.

A Day In the Life Of: Fly in day

This is how a swing starts.

Early travel, a smooth run into camp, and a solid meal before it all kicks off.

It might look simple, but it’s part of something bigger — routine, reliability, and a crew that makes it work.

Safety starts before the drill even turns.

Setting up an exclusion zone is a simple step—but a critical one. It creates a clear boundary, manages risk, and ensures everyone on site knows where they should (and shouldn’t) be.

Because doing the job right means doing it safely from the very start.
