From starting out on the ground to leading from the front — this is what progression really looks like.
We caught up with Brett Stamp, our Operations Manager, to talk about his journey on site — where he started, what he’s learned, and what’s kept him here.
Brett began with us in 2008 on a small exploration project — long days, cold night shifts, and remote work with little contact with family and friends. Like many starting out, he questioned if he’d made the right call. But he gave himself six months to commit — and that decision changed everything.
From bush-based caravan jobs to the Kimberley, Brett found his stride, building confidence, capability, and strong connections with his crew.
An unexpected opportunity saw him step up into a driller role — and he took it.
From there, his career continued to grow:
Driller → Supervisor → Superintendent → Operations Manager
Along the way, there were moments of doubt — even considering walking away — but backing himself (and having the right people around him) made all the difference.
Today, Brett leads a team that supports crews across the field, with a strong focus on safety and performance.
