We’re proud to announce that DM Civil’s ATCO Caversham Emergency Gas Pipeline project has been named a finalist in the $2–5 million category of the 2026 WA Earth Awards.

Following severe erosion that impacted a major gas transmission pipeline, ATCO Gas engaged our team to deliver an urgent solution. A design and construction process that would typically take months was safely completed in just 44 days, helping protect the gas supply to thousands of homes, businesses and critical public services.

Working within a culturally and environmentally sensitive area, we installed a new pipeline beneath the brook using horizontal directional drilling.

This recognition reflects the exceptional planning, strong subcontractor partnerships and dedication of everyone involved. We’re incredibly proud of our team for delivering this complex project safely, without incident and in record time.

Thank you to ATCO Gas, our project partners and the Civil Contractors Federation WA for this recognition. We look forward to celebrating with our industry peers at the WA Earth Awards Gala dinner on 16 October.

PROJECT PROGRESS | Rottnest Island Wastewater Pumping Station

DM Civil is progressing well on its latest infrastructure project on Rottnest Island, including the installation of overflow storage tanks for the new sewage pumping station.

Designed to protect the island’s environment in the event of a power outage or system malfunction, the tanks provide an important additional safeguard. This project reflects DM Civil’s commitment to ensuring sustainability remains at the heart of infrastructure development within our valued natural environments.

Great progress from the Alkimos Pipeline Alliance as construction of the DN1600 pipeline reaches the halfway mark.

Alongside the pipeline works, the team is progressing complex modifications to the internal pipe network at Wanneroo Reservoir. Through innovative design, practical problem-solving and a hands-on approach, our engineers are delivering safe, sustainable solutions while responding to evolving project priorities to ensure timely delivery of the final product.

Congratulations to everyone involved in achieving this important milestone.

PROJECT COMPLETION | North Mandurah Wastewater Pumping Station

We’re pleased to announce the successful commissioning of our latest wastewater pumping station and pressure main.

Our crew navigated a number of construction constraints, including a very tight site and several mechanical equipment challenges, to deliver a Water Corporation-standard Type 10 pumping station for our client.

With FTI finalised we are on to the next challenge.

PROJECT PROGRESS | Sovereign Hill to Guilderton Pipeline

DM Civil is currently delivering a new 7.4-kilometre DN150 PVC bore main from the existing borefield at Sovereign Hill to the existing Guilderton Water Treatment Plant.

Construction of the bore main is nearing completion, thanks to our specialist construction crews, including our trenchless division, which successfully completed a bored crossing beneath Indian Ocean Drive.

To accommodate the increased flow, we are also upgrading the treatment facility under a design and construct contract with our trusted design partner, AIE Engineering. The works include the installation and replacement of flow meters, electro-chlorination, dosing and sampling systems, together with new switchboards and monitoring equipment.

As DM Civil celebrates 50 years of delivering essential infrastructure across Western Australia, projects like this demonstrate our commitment to providing innovative, reliable and sustainable solutions for our clients and communities.

PROJECT COMPLETION | Burrup Seawater Supply Scheme

DM Civil is currently undertaking critical shutdown works on the Burrup Seawater Supply Scheme on the Burrup Peninsula in the Pilbara, working alongside our partners at VDE Engineering.

Across an intensive six-day, 24/7 shutdown, our teams are working around the clock to complete pipework replacements at six critical locations across the twin DN1200 and DN1000 brine and return lines.

With a tightly controlled shutdown window, careful planning, coordination and ex*****on are key to safely completing the works on schedule and returning the infrastructure to service.

The works will provide a significant upgrade to critical pipework infrastructure, supporting the continued operation and reliability of essential desalination and storage activities.

This shutdown demonstrates DM Civil's capability to plan and deliver complex, time-critical works.

As part of the Alkimos Pipeline Alliance (APA), the team proudly came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week, recognising this year's theme, "50 Years Deadly."

The breakfast provided an opportunity to reflect on the enduring strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over the past 50 years of NAIDOC celebrations. A special thank you to Danny Ford from Kambarang Services for sharing stories and cultural insights about the project area on Whadjuk Noongar Country.

At DM Civil, we are committed to creating a positive legacy through meaningful partnerships, supporting Aboriginal participation and working collaboratively with local communities wherever we deliver infrastructure.

Together with our Alliance partners, we're proud of the progress we've made, including:

• Maintaining 11% Aboriginal employment across the project.

• Donating a yarning circle to a local primary school, currently under construction.

• Delivering four Aboriginal business workshops to build capability and strengthen local participation.

As we celebrate 50 years of delivering infrastructure across Western Australia, DM Civil remains committed to building lasting relationships, creating opportunities and working together to deliver positive outcomes for Aboriginal communities, today and for future generations.

As part of the Alkimos Pipeline Alliance's continued delivery of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Program, the team is proud to be delivering the roof renewal project at the Wanneroo Reservoir as an additional scope of works.

Awarded in recognition of the Alliance's strong performance, this project involves replacing the eastern storage tank roof to ensure the long-term integrity and reliability of this critical water infrastructure asset.

Making the most of a tightly planned shutdown window, the team has successfully completed demolition works and has now progressed into the construction phase. With crews working across multiple fronts, the Alliance continues to safely and efficiently deliver both the 27.5 km pipeline and this additional infrastructure upgrade, demonstrating the capability, collaboration and commitment that underpin the project's success.
