Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers and father figures whose guidance helps shape who we become.

To those walking beside us, those supporting us from afar, and those who remain with us in memory, thank you for the lessons, encouragement and love passed from one generation to the next.

From everyone at CJD Equipment, Happy Father’s Day.

Something sweet has been happening across CJD Equipment.

Our teams at Bunbury, Geraldton, Guildford, CJD Trucks and our National office recently held Bake A Wish morning teas, raising funds to help Make-A-Wish Australia grant life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses.

We were also pleased to welcome Dr Mustapha Ramdianee, Chief Operating Officer at ATI-Mirage, who was onsite delivering training to members of our team.

Dr Rambo has a special connection to the cause. He has volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Perth branch since 1999, supporting wish children, their families and fellow volunteers. His commitment to volunteering also extends to his doctoral research into what motivates people to give their time to help others.

Thank you to Dr Rambo for sharing his time and experience with us, and to everyone across CJD who baked, bought, donated and helped organise our morning teas.

Every contribution helps Make-A-Wish create hope, joy and lasting memories for critically ill children and their families.

Built for demanding work without demanding more space on site.

Hire has taken delivery of a new Volvo Construction Equipment ECR355, now making its way to South Australia to support the company’s expanding work across civil construction and major infrastructure projects.

The 35-tonne ECR355 combines the digging, lifting and tractive performance expected from a conventional excavator with a short-swing design suited to confined or congested worksites. Powered by a 189 kW Volvo engine, it offers an operating weight of up to 37 tonnes and bucket capacities ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 m³.

Compared with traditional short-swing machines, the ECR355 delivers:

• 7% greater fuel efficiency
• 7% more lifting capacity
• 4% more tractive force
• 20% more space inside the cab

Founded in 2013 with just two excavators, HEX Hire has grown into a substantial plant and equipment hire business supporting contractors across Victoria and South Australia. Its focus on late-model, low-hour equipment and responsive service makes the ECR355 a natural addition to its growing fleet.

Thank you to Andrew Harte and the entire HEX Hire team for choosing CJD Equipment and Volvo Construction Equipment. We look forward to seeing this machine contributing across HEX Hire’s South Australian projects.

More data is not the goal. Better site decisions are.

Across quarry, mining, civil and infrastructure projects, minor inefficiencies rarely stay minor.

An underloaded hauler, unnecessary idling, congestion on a haul road or excavation work completed twice can affect fuel consumption, productivity and project schedules.

Volvo Connected Services help turn machine and site data into information that operators, supervisors and fleet managers can use while the work is underway.

Connected Map improves visibility of machines, vehicles and personnel across the site. Performance Indicator helps teams understand payload, production, machine activity and fuel consumption. CareTrack highlights critical alerts and performance trends to support earlier intervention and more informed service planning.

In the cab, solutions including Dig Assist and Load Assist help operators work more accurately, manage payloads and reduce avoidable rework.

Connected technology does not replace the experience of the people running the site. It gives them clearer information to make better decisions.

Explore the carousel to see how Volvo Connected Services can support safer, more productive and better-informed operations.

Finished in crisp white with an extensive range of custom stainless and chrome accessories, this build has been carefully detailed from front to back.
The team at Armoury Group introduced several new products for the build, including a bowtie sun visor, a Starlink mounting bracket, and stainless-steel mudflap covers. A number of existing T610 accessories were also modified to suit the TRUCKS AUSTRALIA T620SAR.

The custom fit-out includes:
• Legend Chrome Classic Super Single wheels
• Legend Chrome drive and steer wheels
• New-style bug deflector
• Steps and tank skirts
• Tank wraps and straps
• Low-mount drive guard kit
• Monster-look exhaust shrouds
• Headlight surrounds
• Grille mesh and grille bars
• Front and rear air-cleaner panels

To tie the entire build together, the stainless tail-light bar, drop section, air-vent covers, kick panels and front and rear alloy deck plates were painted white to match the cab.

Congratulations to General & Mining Haulage on an outstanding addition to the fleet, and thanks to everyone involved in bringing the build together.

. And it’s one we’re happy to get behind in Queensland.

CJD Equipment works with a lot of blokes.

Across construction, civil, mining, quarry, transport and agriculture, they’re our customers, our operators, our technicians, our mechanics and our mates.

So when it comes to raising awareness of prostate cancer, it’s a conversation that’s very relevant to our industry.

It’s A Bloke Thing started in Toowoomba after two mates discovered they had both been diagnosed with prostate cancer. It got them wondering why prostate health wasn’t something they’d really talked about before.

That conversation led to the first It’s A Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon in 2011.

Since then, the Foundation has raised millions of dollars to support prostate cancer research, specialist nurses, education and better access to testing.

This year, CJD Equipment is supporting the 2026 Wagners' It’s A Bloke Thing Luncheon as a Gold Sponsor.

For us, the important part is the awareness it creates. Last week, our MD, Alan Barnett, was on hand to attend with QLD RSM Bruce Mc Nicol.

Most blokes in our industry wouldn’t think twice about keeping on top of a machine’s service history or getting something checked before it becomes a bigger problem.

Looking after yourself deserves the same attention. Prostate cancer can develop without obvious symptoms. Knowing your family history, understanding your risk and talking to your GP about prostate health and PSA testing can make a difference.

If supporting It’s A Bloke Thing gets a few more blokes thinking about that, having the conversation or booking an appointment they’ve been putting off, then it’s well worth getting behind. Mark Weekes, GM CJD Queensland,

It’s a bloke thing. Know your risk.

Building EDMC GROUP's Fleet with the next generation looking on

EDMC Group has strengthened its plant hire capability with the recent addition of a Volvo A40 articulated hauler and EC480DL excavator.

Supporting mining and civil operations across Western Australia and beyond, EDMC has built its business around providing the people, equipment and maintenance expertise needed to keep demanding projects moving.

This latest Volvo Construction Equipment pairing gives the EDMC team serious on-the-ground capability. The EC480DL brings the size and strength required for heavy excavation and loading, while the A40 provides dependable off-road hauling across challenging site conditions.

CJD Equipment recently handed the two machines over to the EDMC team, ready for the work ahead.

Thank you to EDMC Group for choosing CJD Equipment and Volvo Construction Equipment. We look forward to supporting the team wherever these machines are put to work. Guildford RSM Mark Smith

Trenline Contracting has taken delivery of this T909, specified for the demanding transport and contracting work behind its operation.

The T909 remains a familiar sight in heavy-duty Australian applications and for good reason. Its long-bonnet design provides the unmistakable Kenworth presence, while the truck can be configured around the payloads, distances and operating conditions the job demands.

A great deal of work goes into a truck before the keys are handed over, from getting the specification right through to its final preparation and delivery.

Thank you to the team at Trenline Contracting for choosing CJD Equipment. We appreciate the opportunity to deliver this impressive T909 and look forward to seeing it out on the road, doing what it was built to do. CJD Trucks RSM Berry
