Behind the Build | Carl Trevillion
Mining Project – Leading Hand | WATM

Carl’s been with WATM since October 2025, working on mining projects and getting stuck into the work head-on. A typical day starts early — find out what’s happening, smash the work out, then wind down back home with a beer in the garden before checking in with family in England and doing it all again the next day.

What drives him most is the satisfaction of fixing a problem — getting things working again and knowing the job’s been done right.

Favourite bit of kit? Milwaukee battery impact guns — a complete game changer compared to the old days.

One thing people might not realise is that you can’t always fix everything straight away. No matter how much experience you’ve got, sometimes you need support — and knowing when to ask is part of the job.

A key skill Carl’s sharpened is dealing with people and their issues, alongside the tools. For him, doing the job properly means work that speaks for itself — if someone else looks at it, there’s nothing to complain about.

Can’t start the day without? Tools. Simple as that.

Outside of work, he’s into ci**rs, shooting, and motorcycles.

New to Australia, Carl’s settled in quickly — the company’s looked after him, the crew’s easy to get along with, and the weather hasn’t hurt either.
