HEMA MAKES DASH CAMS AND APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN KEPT QUIETER THAN IT SHOULD’VE BEEN?!

Maps? Obviously. Navigation? Yep.

Dash cams? Apparently we’re all just finding things out.

Front + rear coverage for daily driving, touring, wheeling… and capturing old mate merging across four lanes like he’s playing Mario Kart.

Another Y62 came in looking respectable.

We can’t be having that.

Colour-coded Raid Bar on the front and now it looks like it’s been banned from three caravan parks and has an active warrant in Mansfield.

Big V8. Perfectly fitted bar. Absolutely no interest in fuel economy.

While the rest of the automotive industry is busy putting iPads on wheels and congratulating themselves for removing cylinders, we’re still out here helping V8s become even less socially acceptable.

Unnecessary? Probably.
Tough? Absolutely.

Some 4WD shops sell the lifestyle.

We actually live it.

We wheel our cars. We break them. We fix them. And occasionally drive home listening to a new noise thinking, “yeah, thats going to be fun to explain”

We don’t recommend gear because the rep says it’s good.

We recommend it because we’ve used it, abused it and worked out what actually survives.

If you don’t need it, we’ll tell you.
If it’s terrible, we’ll tell you.

We’re not salesmen pretending to be 4WDers.

We’re 4WDers who somehow ended up with access to EFTPOS machines.

“I NEED A TRAY FOR WORK.”

At this point the Hilux has more storage, running water and kitchen facilities than some Melbourne rentals.

Tradie Monday to Friday.
Grey nomad by Friday afternoon!

Load the fridge. Fill the tank. Stock the pantry.
Tell the boss you’ve got gastro.

Brand new Pakenham Isuzu UTE D-MAX came into the shop.

We asked if we could LS swap it.

Managment said apparently I’m management and need to stop asking stupid questions.

So… we changed it up and suddenly we’ve got something going on.

The IRONMAN 4X4 colour-coded bar absolutely bangs!

Clean enough that it almost looks factory.

Angry enough that nobody’s mistaking it for the accountant’s D-MAX parked outside Bunnings.

Scope lights up front because factory headlights are great if your hobbies include bot driving at night.

Ironman winch because sooner or later every 4WD owner hears the four most expensive words in the English language:

“Yeah, you’ll make it.”

No unnecessary gear bolted everywhere.

No catalogue thrown at it.

Just good gear, fitted properly, and a D-MAX that now looks considerably less responsible.

Still powered by diesel unfortunately, but we can’t win them all.

This BYD Shark rolled in as a climate-conscious cordless ute and left with:

IRONMAN 4X4 GVM upgrade
Ironman sports bar
RAID roof rack

Now it can carry camping gear, tools and the unbearable smugness of telling everyone at the pub how little fuel it used getting there.

It’s part petrol, part electric and entirely confusing to us when there’s a noise and our diagnostic process begins with “give it a rev.”

Do we understand why a ute needs both an engine and a laptop battery?

No.

Do we respect anything that can quietly gap a diesel ute while carrying a rooftop tent and four cases of beer?

Unfortunately, yes.

The hybrid revolution is here—and apparently the revolution wants a lift kit, bar work and somewhere to mount Maxtrax.

Down at the Melbourne 4x4 Show pretending we’re here for “professional development.”

Reality: we’re lurking around the IRONMAN 4X4 stand touching everything they probably wish we wouldn’t.

RAID MKII bar? Yep.
New MX195 air compressor? Yep.
A dangerous amount of other gear your 4WD suddenly “needs”? Absolutely.

Come find us before your missus does.

We’ll happily explain why your perfectly functional 4WD is actually nowhere near finished.

Financial responsibility resumes Monday.
