Hands-on heritage training reaches new heights for Olivia Britt, a Senior Structural Engineer in our Heritage team!

We checked in with Olivia, who is undertaking the 2025 Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) Scholarship training program in the UK, and she regaled us with stories of being on the roof of Westminster Abbey with the other SPAB Scholars and Fellows (pictured).

She told us she's loving every moment of her adventure:
"I'm having a great time and learning so much. It’s inspiring to meet a diverse group of professionals all working hard to preserve historic buildings using techniques that respect the unique challenges of these structures. I’m excited to bring this knowledge to the historic sites I’m privileged to work on in Sydney."

Olivia’s passion for mastering her craft is clear, and her journey is one we're excited to watch as she brings fresh expertise and global insights to Heritage Engineering.

Stay tuned for more updates from her UK experience!

🏆 Exciting news! 🏆

The Hub at Guulabaa Place of Koala Cowarra State Forest has won a 2025 ULI Asia Pacific Award!

This stunning project in Port Macquarie perfectly balances koala conservation with eco-educational tourism. Our Structural team designed the heart of this development which incorporated locally sourced hardwood and locally produced LVL beams and panels.

The result? A visitor centre, cafe, and community space that blends beautifully into the forest while supporting koala rehabilitation and wild breeding.

Huge congratulations to our partners Visit NSW State Forests, Gensler and F & SJ Maione for their hard work and collaboration on this exceptional project.

We'd like to take the opportunity to congratulate all of our partners and clients for being amongst the 126 shortlisted projects for the 2025 Victorian Architecture Awards.

We particularly want to congratulate Jackson Clements Burrows Architects - JCB for their recognition for the Decjuba HQ and Architectus for the development of the Kangan Institute Health and Community Centre of Excellence, both of which we provided our expertise to.

It's great to see such innovative projects and businesses recognised for the work done to overcome challenges in the built environment.

A new game-changing TAFE health centre is complete and ready to shape the future of Australian vocational health and community training.

We are proud to have been a part of the new Kangan Institute Health and Community Centre of Excellence, which officially opened in February in Broadmeadows, Victoria.

The Health and Community Centre of Excellence was developed in close collaboration with First Nations representatives, the Wurundjeri Council, and industry and community stakeholders, and it features innovative, sustainable, and contemporary initiatives, including:
🔹A multi-purpose 360-degree virtual reality immersion gallery
🔹Advanced laboratories with 3D interactive digital anatomy capabilities
🔹Simulation suites for hospital, aged care, and other similar study courses

TTW worked closely with Architectus and Hutchinson Builders Victoria, leading the Structural, Civil, and Façade services. The structural design consisted of three levels of suspended post-tensioned concrete floor plates and precast design for all vertical structures. Our Civil team designed the external colonnade features, and the Façade team provided guidance and design for the architectural features, including brick and window wall fins, which set the look and feel of this world-class facility.

What a team!

A huge congratulations to our incredible Victorian team who took on the challenge and completed the Melbourne Teams Corporate Triathlon charity triathlon over the weekend, for the second year running.

Our teams completed both the full, and fun relays, pushing their limits while strengthening team bonds 💪

Their determination and teamwork not only saw them cross the finish line but also helped raise vital funds for Launch Housing whose goal is to help end homelessness in Australia.

We’re so proud of their efforts and the generous support from our community - well-done everyone involved!
