Do you know the difference between galvanised and painted steel?
While they may look similar, each option is better suited to different environments and projects.
Painted steel is a practical, cost-effective choice that is easy to cut, weld and fabricate. It is commonly used for indoor, undercover and general fabrication projects where high corrosion resistance is not required.
Galvanised steel provides long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion. It is generally better suited to fencing, sheds, outdoor structures and projects exposed to moisture or changing weather conditions.
The main difference is not necessarily strength — it is the level of corrosion protection.
