A big shoutout to Kean Sparkes, our Adelaide Superintendent, as he nears completion of over 17,000t of diaphragm wall reinforcement for the T2D Project, alongside a range of smaller scopes including pile cages, manual cages and other key works delivered through our Adelaide facility.

Kean plays a major role in our South Australian operations, leading one of Australia’s largest prefab reinforcement facilities and managing up to 120 people during peak production. Running a facility of this scale takes serious leadership, organisation and commitment, and Kean consistently delivers.

With a lifetime in the industry, Kean brings strong practical knowledge, high standards and a disciplined approach to safety, productivity and delivery. More importantly, he has built a strong culture in Adelaide where people feel supported, respected and accountable, creating a team that takes pride in what they do.

We’re proud to have Kean representing Coastal in South Australia and are excited to see what’s next as we continue pushing into larger projects and expanding our footprint across the state.

Proud to share a quick site visit from the Gold Coast where Coastal Steelfixing is working on the Meriton Cypress Palms and Iconica towers alongside Infrabuild and Meriton.

The overall development is a massive package, with Cypress around $1.5B and Iconica around $1B. Our scope covers the prefabrication of tower column cages, with roughly 2,200 cages on Cypress and 1,400 on Iconica, along with tens of thousands of coupler connections and over 10,000 tonnes of reo across the project. We are currently at Level 14 with a total of 90 stories across the build.

We’re prefabricating all tower column cages offsite, fully match fitted before they go in. Once onsite, they’re installed vertically as the structure climbs, which helps keep the program moving and reduces disruption for other trades.

Multiple towers are being built at once, with varying column sizes and configurations as the buildings progress. It’s a good example of how prefabrication helps deliver efficiency on a job of this scale.

Today in South Australia, we said goodbye to one of our valued team members as he returns home to Mongolia.

Baggi has been with us for over three years and has played a significant role in delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia. His contributions include:

~18,000 tonnes of diaphragm wall reinforcement on the North East Link Project (Bulleen, VIC)

~3,000 tonnes on the Suburban Rail Loop (VIC)

~10,000+ tonnes (and counting) on the Torrens to Darlington Project (SA)

Throughout his time with us, Baggi has dedicated countless hours on site, leading teams and consistently delivering high quality prefabricated reinforcement cages safely and efficiently.

We thank him for his hard work, leadership, and commitment, and wish him all the very best as he heads home. He will always be welcome back.

We’re pleased to be commencing another scope of works on the Southern Tunnel South Portal base slab reinforcement for the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project in Adelaide.
This scope focuses on prefabricating the slab reinforcement sections offsite, ready for efficient drop in installation. By delivering prefabricated assemblies, we’re helping streamline the programme, improve safety, and maintain high quality outcomes for this major infrastructure project.
