This is how we transformed a basic GU Patrol into an ultimate tourer.

Yep...same car.
But pretty much everything about it has changed.

Months in the making - designing, cutting, fabricating and rebuilding.

The customers brief: dual cab, more usable space and a build that could take him anywhere in Australia. Delivered.

The canopy was designed to maximise space and the way you actually live on the road.

Hidden fuel filler for added peace of mind.

Slimline roof rack to keep things low profile.

And a few extras to finish off - speaker in the canopy, starlink on the roof and a false floor in the canopy...for the essentials 🍻 🤫

DM us or head to the website to chat about your touring build.

A look behind the scenes at a day in the life of a workshop owner/fabricator.

No two days look the same but the process always does.

It starts with taking the time to get the foundations right, not rushing the parts that make or break a build and going into every build with confidence.

This GU Patrol is in for a space cab chop, and it's now ready for its new look.

The two vehicles that started it all...

A grandpa-spec Y61 Patrol and a 60 Series LandCruiser.

I bought this patrol 13 years ago from a grey nomad...safe to say he wasn't a fan of my plans for it.

The patrol was turned into a very capable touring wagon which took us just about everywhere… until the usable space ran out. I'd done so much to the car already that I didn't want to sell it and start again. So I chopped it, painted it and turned it into a dual cab ultimate tourer built for weeks out remote.

Then there's the 60 Series. A COVID boredom buy. Didn’t run, parked up in long grass and was a bit rough around the edges. I always wanted a ute with a full size tray...so I chopped it into a space cab in my slopey backyard 👀

A budget build that's now my daily + the Alloi Industries workhorse hauling trays, canopies and whatever else.

Just a couple of builds that turned a passion into a business. And now I get to help others turn their ideas into purpose-built rigs - workhorses, weekend warriors, tourers, show ponies and everything in between.
