Ever wondered where a limestone wall begins?

The stone here formed over 30 million years from marine sediment and fossil coral. We cut it out with saws, not explosives.

From the quarry floor, the blocks are stacked under cover at our yard, then head off around the country on our own B-Double trucks. Broken pieces go through the crusher, so they're put to use too.

A big thank you to our quarry and production team, who make it look easy.

A Toorak home with classical bones, built in Mount Gambier limestone.

The Portico House, designed by Christopher Doyle Architects, takes its cues from traditional European architecture: symmetry, careful proportion and a calm, restrained palette. At its center, a curved portico framed by tapered limestone columns and carved capitals softens the front of the home.

We supplied the Mount Gambier limestone for the double-skin walls, the curved blockwork and the classical details. Inside, limestone blockwork wraps the curved staircase. Solid stone walls like these help keep a home cooler in summer and quieter inside, and there's nothing to render or repaint.
