Moxon Keeping manufacturing strong, sharing our story and supporting apprentices through to business owners

All credit goes to the boys that decided on doing an apprenticeship with us.

Thank you to their parents that trusted us to guide them in the early years of their career.

I can guarantee you will have these skills for life and will never be unemployed. Just look at how many white collar professionals are being replaced with ai.

Applications for apprenticeships are always open with us.

“I said it was going to be difficult, not impossible.”

Watching Djokovic vs Sinner last night, it hit me: every experienced manager and business owner who keeps showing up under pressure is living that same story – carrying the scars, trusting their read of the game, and backing themselves to turn it around when it matters most.

This is why experience matters.

LETS TALK FUTURE FLEET RAIL PART 2 - Australia’s Tier 3 manufacturers aren’t lacking skill.
They’re lacking certainty.

When the pipeline dries up, investment stops.
No new machines. No apprentices. No innovation.

But when long-term infrastructure work is locked in, that changes everything.
Shops start hiring again. Systems improve. Tooling gets upgraded. The trade keeps moving.

If we want a manufacturing sector that can support complex assets for decades to come, we need to start building that future now.

If you're relying on overseas manufacturing, you're not just waiting on parts.
You're waiting on replies. Approvals. Corrections.

Midnight video calls and shipping delays don’t come up in the quote, but they always show up in the job.

When something goes wrong with a local supplier, we’re on the phone. Or on site.
When something goes wrong overseas, you’re just… waiting.

Speed isn't just how fast you can produce something.
It’s how quickly you can solve a problem.

If you work in trade or engineering, this looks like a job.
If you don’t, it probably looks impossible.

Precision like this takes time. Systems. Patience. Responsibility.
This single part? Over 120 hours of work.
Welded, machined, split. Measured down to fractions of a millimetre.

One mistake, one tolerance out, and the whole job could be scrapped.
That’s why we don’t rely on memory.
We rely on process.

Because behind every part that leaves our floor is a system that makes sure it’s done right.

LETS TALK FUTURE FLEET RAIL PART 1 - What a privilege be on the panel to discuss building trains in NSW. A lot of the components for rail vehicles: bogies, car bodies, interiors, can be manufactured locally.

The real opportunity is in collaboration.
Tier 3 suppliers have the capability.
OEMs bring systems and scale.
And when the standards are aligned, it opens the door to manufacturing more here in Australia, not offshore.

If OEMs want to improve local content, the next step is simple.
Talk to Tier 3s.
Talk to the primes.
Talk to the industry.

Let’s aim for 80 to 90% local content. And build them here.
