What makes an airport feel calm—even at peak travel times? ✈️🔊

Behind the sleek ceilings of the modern Hobart airport terminals, there’s a quiet Megasorber hero at work. Aircraft noise, constant passenger movement, and expansive open areas can all contribute to excessive reverberation—but thoughtful acoustic design transforms the experience.

By integrating Megasorber Soundmesh G8A‑B behind perforated plasterboard, this Hobart Airport project delivers high‑performance sound absorption without compromising the terminal’s clean, contemporary ceiling design.

The result? A noticeably calmer terminal environment. After clearing security, passengers can enjoy a quieter, more comfortable space—enhancing their journey while maintaining the terminal’s sleek architectural character.

A big thank you to the project partners who made this possible:

Ever wondered how to stop sound from travelling through your walls or ceilings?
Meet the Megasorber B Barrier — your new best friend for peace and quiet.
By adding mass to a wall or ceiling, you make it MUCH harder for noise to break through.

The ideal setup: create a sandwich system
🧱 Install Megasorber B Barrier on top of stud walls or on top of existing plasterboard walls
➡️ Add plasterboard on top and finish it with your favourite paint colour.
💥 Result: Serious sound‑blocking power.
This combo can achieve over 50 dB noise reduction. 🤯

Swipe through to see how this system was installed in the media room of a luxury home — keeping movie night noise inside the room and the rest of the house blissfully quiet. 🎬✨
The homeowners even added it to their bedrooms… Who doesn’t love an uninterrupted night's sleep? 😴💤
And think bigger:
📍 Boardrooms
📍 Medical suites
📍 Any space where privacy matters
Keep your conversations in the room — and everyone else out.

Have you heard of “raining flaming droplets” in the building sector?

Fire safety is always top of mind in any building project. When sourcing materials like acoustic panels, no one intends to compromise on safety. You verify compliance, confirm standards, and move forward with confidence.

But here’s a lesser-known risk: in ceiling areas, some acoustic panels can produce flaming droplets during a fire—accelerating spread and increasing danger.

A tragic example? The Le Constellation bar fire in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Flammable ceiling materials ignited and caused rapid fire spread, killing 40 people and injuring 119. This incident raised urgent questions about fire-safe acoustic materials.

At Megasorber, we provide fire-resistant acoustic panels designed to mitigate these risks. We’ve written an article exploring this phenomenon and explaining why choosing the right panels is crucial.

Noise control matters—even outdoors!

The Telstra Exchange at Oakleigh South is situated in a densely populated residential area. Several mechanical plant items—including high-capacity air-conditioning units and a backup generator—were positioned beside the exchange building, generating significant noise, particularly during night time operation. We tackled the noise with Megasorber weather-resistant acoustic panels installed on perimeter fences.

✅ Why it works:
Megasorber’s outdoor acoustic panels are engineered to withstand harsh weather while delivering superior sound absorption. Perfect for industrial sites, residential areas, and outdoor applications.

💡 Questions we often get:
👉 How to install outdoor acoustic panels on fences?
Answers can be found here https://megasorber.com/telstra-exchange-station/
👉 Where to buy weather-resistant acoustic panels?
We’ve got you covered! Explore our range of outdoor-ready panels here:

Creating a quieter, more confidential environment is essential for patient care. Here’s how Megasorber solutions make it possible:
✅ Absorb noise with Megasorber FM water-repellent panels – ideal for consultation rooms, treatment areas, hallways, and plant rooms.
✅ Block noise between rooms using Megasorber Barrier or CP panels on walls and ceilings.
✅ Combine absorption and blocking with Megasorber CM acoustic ceiling tiles for maximum privacy.
✅ Reduce rain noise on metal roofs with Megasorber D14 panels, ensuring comfort even during storms.

Proven in leading healthcare projects:
