The Story of BTTA Tools
It started in a school woodworking when I was 16. While most kids were just trying to get through the class, I discovered something that clicked, joinery. The satisfaction of making something solid with your own hands. That was the spark.
In 2005 I began a four-year carpentry apprenticeship. I qualified in 2009 and stepped fully into the trade. From the beginning I was the one always pulling tools apart, fixing them, tinkering, figuring out what made one tool better than another. I wasn’t content just using whatever was available. I wanted to understand them.
That curiosity turned into a habit. For years I was importing tools and accessories two or three years before they ever appeared in the local stores. I’d try them on the job, put them through real work, and learn what actually held up and what didn’t. Over time that experience stacked up. Twenty-one years in the trade taught me exactly what quality feels like in the hand, what lasts under pressure, and what is just marketing.
That knowledge is what led to BTTA Tools.
The idea was simple but powerful: take everything I’d learned about high-quality tools and accessories and make them available at a price that didn’t punish tradies who wanted the good stuff. Tools and accessories that perform at the level of (or better than) the big professional brands, without the premium price tag that usually comes with them.
BTTA Tools exists because of that journey — from a 16-year-old discovering joinery in a school workshop, through the apprenticeship, the years of hands-on work, the endless tinkering and early imports, all the way to building a brand focused on real quality and fair value. It’s not just another tool company. It’s the result of two decades of living and breathing the tools of the trade.
