We were honoured to welcome Senator Jane Hume to Structural Challenge last month.

As Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, Productivity and Deregulation, Senator Hume met with our team to discuss the proposed Safeguard Measure and its critical role in protecting Australia’s steel industry and strengthening our sovereign manufacturing capability.

We’re very proud to announce that Structural Challenge has been awarded the Richmond Football Club Punt Road Oval redevelopment, working with our valued client and builder, Built Environs ✨

This landmark project will deliver a high-performance, inclusive precinct to support the AFL, AFLW and VFL programs, including the new Jack Dyer Stand, a re-aligned MCG-sized oval, and major upgrades to training, administration and community facilities. Designed with heritage, flexibility and long-term growth in mind, the redevelopment will future-proof Punt Road Oval as a premier destination for elite sport and community engagement.

Key features include state-of-the-art football facilities, increased spectator capacity for up to 8,000 fans, new underground shared parking, expanded greenspace and improved access to Yarra Park—delivering approximately 19,233 sqm of new and refurbished space.

We’re very much looking forward to working with Built Environs and Richmond Football Club on their largest infrastructure project to date, alongside Case Meallin, Cox Architecture, the Victorian Government and the broader project team. You can read more about the project here:

It’s been a quarter of a century of innovation, teamwork, and building with purpose—so last week, we marked the milestone than by getting creative together. Our team swapped steel for paintbrushes at Dya: The Art of Creative Thinking for a relaxed paint-and-sip session that reminded us what collaboration and creativity look like in every form.

From our beginnings in 2000 to today, we’re proud of how far we’ve come—and even prouder of the people who’ve made it all possible. Here’s to the next 25 years of problem-solving, growth, and shaping Australia’s built environment together 👏✨

A pleasure to be working with Kapitol Group to see a major milestone for the Lindrum Hotel redevelopment—installation of the tower crane in Melbourne’s CBD.

Structural Challenge supplied all strengthening works for this beautiful heritage building, helping prepare the structure for its next stage while preserving its historic character. Kapitol worked meticulously to plan the crane install in collaboration with Lendlease and other trade partners, coordinating with local authorities and neighbouring properties to ensure safe traffic control and protection of the heritage façades.

The Structural Challenge team joined industry peers at The Steel Club of Victoria Grand Final Luncheon on 25 September, celebrating another fantastic year for the steel community in the lead-up to AFL Grand Final ✨

Held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the event featured guest speakers Emma Kearney (AFLW League Best & Fairest and Melbourne Stars inaugural WBBL player) and Corey McKernan (AFL All-Australian, 237 games and 310 goals). We enjoyed a three-course lunch and live entertainment—including a sneak peek at Snoop Dog, Jessica Mauboy and Tash Sultana in rehearsal!—followed by raffles and charity auctions for good causes, with one lucky winner walking away with an incredible European holiday prize valued at $25,000 ✨

A big thanks to the Steel Club of Victoria for hosting another outstanding event. Structural Challenge is a strong supporter of the charity organisation with Maria, our director, on the Committee.
