It was a pleasure to visit the Swinburne University of Technology and the CSIRO Industry 4.0 Test Lab. Together with Jimmy Thomas, Facility Manager, and Mohammad Ravandi, Senior Research Fellow, we explored advancements in high-rate thermoplastic stamp forming — an exciting process that enables rapid and precise shaping of fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composites.

In the wake of the recent Avalon Australian International Airshow, the focus on process repeatability and short cycle times is more relevant than ever. Technologies like this are poised to shape the future of advanced manufacturing and applications.

A big thank you to the team for the insightful discussions and demonstration of this cutting-edge capability.
