We had the pleasure of welcoming Lindsay Lmac MacDonnell and Steve Mcbride , owners/senior executives of our company, today for their quarterly visit to Dara.
Taking a rare moment away from their busy schedule in Kalgoorlie — and alongside one of the group’s most exciting milestones, the major expansion into 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮, where 𝗔𝗕𝗕𝗔"𝘀 newest manufacturing facility is currently under construction — it was a great opportunity for our team to catchup with them.
With the new facility set to expand the group’s fabrication, assembly, and automation capabilities by mid this year, it’s an exciting time across the entire ABBA Group.
During their visit, Lindsay and Steve spent time with our team, sharing warm conversations, walking the factory floor, and checking in on the progress of key initiatives — including the introduction of our new laser cutting machine, which has already made a significant impact on fabrication speed and efficiency.
As always, it’s valuable to bounce around new ideas, keep our strategy and ex*****on aligned, and recalibrate each quarter to ensure we stay focused on shared group objectives.
And of course… no great day is complete without a cold beer and a good steak to finish it off. 🍻🥩

Our Dara Switchboards global team took a break from emails, deadlines, and dashboards and swapped them for sun, sea, and way too much buffet food at Eden Beruwala, Sri Lanka.
With 50+ in this team, this annual getaway was our chance to say a huge THANK YOU for the hard work, ideas, late nights, early mornings, and everything in between that you do for our group companies every day. 🙌

Our 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 came together for our annual get-together at Eden Beruwala, Sri Lanka, celebrating an incredible year of growth, collaboration, and success. With over 𝟱𝟬 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 working in this team, this event was our chance to say 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 — for the dedication, innovation, and passion that our team brings to our group companies every single day.

The highlight of the weekend was having our 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗘𝗢, Lindsay MacDonnell, join us for his inaugural visit to Sri Lanka. Lindsay embraced the local culture, hospitality, and of course, the southern waves 🌊 — combining business, connection, and his passion for surfing.

We were also privileged to have Dr. Ranil Sugathadasa energize the team with an engaging, high-intensity session on leadership, teamwork, and continuous excellence — 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼.

Our final day of the tour took us to 𝗘𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲, where we explored the world of 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.
A standout moment was seeing the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟬𝘀 displayed alongside Eaton’s latest innovations. Side by side, they tell a remarkable 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆. From early designs to today’s advanced, efficient, and connected solutions — it’s clear that Eaton’s DNA is built on a legacy of innovation ⚡️.
This tour has been more than a factory visit — it’s been an eye-opening journey across Europe, connecting history, technology, and people.

✨ 𝗘𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 – 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟱 (𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆)
We kicked off Day 5 with a drive to Eaton’s 𝗗𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘂 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 — home to the production of modular 𝗠𝟮𝟮 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵-𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝗛𝗠𝗜𝘀). From up-close, we observed how 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝟰.𝟬 and automation are revolutionising manufacturing with smart workflows, robotics, and connected data systems.

After lunch, we visited the 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘇𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, where Eaton produces 𝘅𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗠 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀. Again, the automation stood out — seamless, efficient, and smart.

It’s noteworthy that these manufacturing facilities are located in smaller towns. Historically, 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 intentionally established Moeller factories away from major cities to avoid wartime damage — a strategic approach that shows the depth of planning behind Eaton’s legacy.

𝗔 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆: many plant leaders in production, quality, and manufacturing have dedicated 𝟮𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝟰𝟬 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 to Eaton. Their loyalty speaks volumes about the company culture and the strong sense of belonging within Eaton in Europe.

Today was a chance to slow down and explore the beautiful city of 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 🇵🇭 before continuing our journey to 🇩🇪.

Walking through Prague feels like stepping into a living history book — from its 𝗚𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 to the famous 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 and Astronomical Clock that has been ticking since the 1400s. Every corner of the city tells a story of resilience, craftsmanship, and innovation through the ages.

👉 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? Just as Prague carries centuries of history, Eaton’s own journey in Europe is built on strong foundations. With deep roots through companies like 𝗠𝗼𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 (Germany) and 𝗙&𝗚 (Austria), Eaton has inherited a legacy of engineering excellence that continues to shape its innovations today.
