Following the recent conclusion of Jordan Gogos’ first institutional solo exhibition, Parádeisos, at UNSW Galleries, we reflect on how audiences engaged with the participatory element of Don’t Think - a work created in collaboration with the Pallion Arts Program.

Throughout the exhibition, a dedicated wall became a collective record of audience responses - their interpretations, personal messages and moments of quiet reflection, unrestricted by language.

The spirit of collaboration and participation is at the heart of the Pallion Arts Program, reflecting a belief in the democratic nature of art and its capacity to invite connection, exchange and shared experience. As Gogos reflected, every element of the work is “relatable on some front.”

Through the voices and perspectives of its audiences, Don’t Think continued to evolve over the course of the exhibition, becoming a collective expression shaped by the wider community.

Pallion was proud to support the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra’s 2026 Annual Gala as Major Sponsor.

Pallion believes artists and art-making are fundamental to Australia’s cultural future. Through the Pallion Arts Program, Pallion is committed to supporting artists, enabling ambitious creative practice and contributing to a vibrant cultural landscape.

The National Gallery’s vision of making art accessible, inclusive and meaningful for all Australians resonates strongly with Pallion and reflects a shared belief that art has the power to connect people, challenge perspectives and enrich communities.

Founding National Gallery Director James Mollison famously observed that “good art should tear you in two.” Great art does more than simply please - it provokes, challenges and remains with the viewer long after the encounter.

Pallion is proud to support the National Gallery in its enduring commitment to artists, the National Collection and ensuring exceptional art remains accessible, inclusive and meaningful for all Australians.

Running for Gold 💛

The Pallion team came together on Sunday to take on City2Surf, tackling the iconic 14km from the Sydney CBD to Bondi Beach.

After conquering Heartbreak Hill and crossing the finish line, we celebrated everyone’s efforts with some (well-earned) refreshments to recover and reconnect.

Proud of every single person who ran, walked, and cheered from the sidelines!

Celebrated ceramic artist Ben Mazey shares three of the works that continually inspire his creative practice.

From the impermanence of British artist and environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy's land art, to the way Rachel Whiteread casts the negative space of otherwise mundane objects in concrete, to the breath-taking power of Botticelli's Birth of Venus—these are the works never far from his mind.

Mazey is the artist behind Gold Leaf Flag Carpet (2026), a collective artwork in ceramic and 24ct ABC Bullion gold leaf that marks the official opening of the Pallion Arts Studio. The collaborative spirit of the Pallion Arts Program is made manifest in the work, completed by Mazey alongside guests at the Arts Studio Opening event.

The finished work now takes pride of place in the Pallion Arts Studio, a lasting testament to not only the space’s opening, but of the power of shared creative experiences using one of the world’s most precious materials.

An insight into the creative mind and process of ceramic artist Ben Mazey, as he fired up the kiln in the Pallion Arts Studio to create 'Gold Leaf Flag Carpet.'

Through the work, Mazey channelled the collaborative spirit of the Pallion Arts Program, inviting guests at the Studio's opening to contribute to a collective artwork. 24ct ABC Bullion gold leaf was delicately applied atop his signature sculptural ceramic forms.

Gold leaf has been used in art for millennia, and here it embodies the Pallion Arts Program's commitment to reigniting the enduring legacy of precious metals in contemporary practice.

A lasting mark of the studio's opening, brought to life with one of the world's most precious materials.

Creation of 'Portrait of Philip Williams', 2026 by Ralph Heimans: Part 2 🎞️

Pallion is proud to unveil a landmark portrait of Chairman Philip Williams by internationally renowned portrait artist Ralph Heimans.

Recognised as one of the world’s foremost portrait painters, Heimans has portrayed members of the British and Danish royal families, heads of state, cultural leaders and distinguished Australians. In this, his latest commission, he honours one of Australia’s defining business leaders through a significant cultural work celebrating craftsmanship, excellence and the enduring legacy of precious metals.

Set within the dramatic interior of a bullion vault, the portrait weaves together powerful symbols of Philip Williams’ six-decade contribution to the precious metals industry and Pallion’s defining legacy. Through carefully chosen objects including Lindy Lee’s Abundance, the Lexus Melbourne Cup, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Coach, and LBMA Good Delivery 400oz ABC Bullion gold bars - the portrait tells the story of Pallion’s enduring contribution to Australian craftsmanship, culture and the precious metals industry.

Reflecting on the commission, Heimans said, “The vault became the perfect setting for representing someone whose life has been devoted to gold while also allowing me to tell the broader story of Pallion.”

Unveiled at the opening of the Pallion Arts Studio, this landmark commission reflects Pallion’s enduring belief that Australia’s great stories deserve to be preserved through great works of art.
