What a creative day we had today in our Design Center class with Lisa!

Today was Part 1 of our 3-part creative series, where we explored creating embroidery artwork using Design Center. Everyone’s projects are already looking amazing — from butterflies and dragonflies to floral designs and playful characters.

Next up is Part 2: Painting Fabric Class — June 4, where we’ll add colour and personality to our stitched designs:

Did you know we do servicing? 🧵🛠️

We’ve seen it all in the service department — tangled threads, fabric fluff, dust bunnies… and possibly a whole knitted jumper forming inside a machine. 😅

If your Overlocker, sewing or embroidery machine sounds a bit grumpy, skips stitches, or hasn’t had a clean-out in a while, it might be time to book it in.

Your machine works hard. Let us give it the spa day it deserves.

🧵 MAY CLUB DAY AT PERTH SEWING CENTRE: THE GREAT SHOW ’N TELL SHORTAGE OF 2026 🧵

Well, our May Club Day was a lovely one… although we do need to address the elephant in the sewing room:

Where was everyone’s Show ’n Tell?! 😄

Normally we have quilts, bags, embroidery, clever projects, “just whipped this up” masterpieces, and at least three things that make the rest of us say, “Right, I’m going home to rethink my life choices.”

But this time?

We had two brave souls bring Show ’n Tell — thank you to the very talented Sheryl and Dianne!

TWO.

Which meant one very serious consequence…

Lisa had to talk more.

And honestly, nobody planned for that level of fabric/Sashiko-based commentary. 😂

We do know Margaret, one of our star Show ’n Tell contributors, is currently out of action after a holiday mishap — sending you lots of love, Margaret! We miss your beautiful work and your ability to make the rest of us look disorganised. 💐

Our demonstration for the day was Sashiko, which was absolutely beautiful and inspiring. Tiny stitches, big impact… and thankfully much calmer than Lisa trying to fill the Show ’n Tell silence.

Because our Show ’n Tell table was looking a little… minimalist… we’re also sneaking in some photos from two months ago, when everyone was clearly less “on holidays” and more “actually sewing.” 😆

Thank you to everyone who came along, stitched, laughed, shared, learned, and helped make Club Day such a joy.

Next time, please bring your projects. Finished, unfinished, half-finished, wildly optimistic, or still in the bag from 2019 — we want to see them all.

Because if you don’t bring Show ’n Tell…

Our Box Making class with Dianne runs once a month, and each session is a great opportunity to learn new techniques and create something practical and beautiful.
