Our Mackay team brought in dishes representing our cultures and favourite cuisines, fired up the BBQ and slow cooker, and enjoyed a massive feast together.

Last Friday, Vulcan celebrated Cultural Day, with branches across Australia and New Zealand each taking the opportunity to celebrate the different cultures within their local teams.

Here in Mackay, we got into the spirit by setting up decorations the day before, firing up the BBQ and even putting the slow cooker to work. Everyone brought along a dish that represented their culture or favourite cuisine, and we ended up with a massive spread of amazing food to share.

It was a great chance to learn a little more about each other, try some new food and celebrate the diversity within our team.

Shoutout to Ryan and his team at Bolzy's Go4 Services!

Ryan collects our recyclables each fortnight, helping us keep our waste out of landfill while supporting his local business.

Ryan lives with Cohen Syndrome, a rare genetic disability, and we’re proud to support him and his team. Vulcan recently upgraded from our small plastic tubs to a wheelie bin, making the collection process a little easier for Ryan.

Last week, some members of our team had the privilege of attending the McDonald's Mackay Flagon & Dragon Luncheon, a much-anticipated local event proudly supported by businesses and the wider community.

The luncheon raises vital funds to help improve the lives of sick and disabled children, with proceeds supporting local non-profit organisations and the important work they do within our community.

We were also proud to support the cause as a business, with Vulcan making a donation to the fundraising efforts. It was fantastic to see the generosity of local businesses and community members come together to support such a meaningful cause.

A great event, an even better cause, and something we're proud to be part of.

In this, our 21st year of year of business we’re moving to

Right between Bryan Bodies Australia and Pedders Suspension near Boundary Rd intersection. Prime spot. Bigger space. More capability. Same friendly service.

• The move kicks off end of May-early June
• We’ll be trading and relocating at the same time…

So yes, chaos may reign supreme for a few weeks as we sort, pack, move and organise our new digs. But don’t stress — the doors will stay open as best we can!
