Storm season's here. Is your setup ready to keep the lights on?

It's Get Ready Queensland Week (5–11 October), a good nudge to sort your plan before the first big storm, not during it.

If you've already got a lithium setup in the 4WD, camper or caravan, you may have more backup power on hand than you think. A few quick checks this week:

• Top up your battery bank before storms are forecast, not after the power drops
• Know what your setup can run (fridge, lights, device charging) and for how long
• Charge torches, power banks and a battery-operated radio
• Never run a generator inside a garage or enclosed space
• Switch off sensitive electronics so they're protected when power returns
