Centwest Engineering & Steel Supplies

Centwest is closed this Saturday 10th.

We try to service our community 6 days per week to support those who are unable to meet us during normal weekday trading and to help you with your weekend project needs.

However, we have a small team of staff (who we appreciate very much 💯🙏) and, despite their commitment and willingness to assist us to make Saturday trading work, this is one weekend when we just can’t make it happen.

If you require something urgently from our retail store (Saturday morning only), please send a facebook message and someone may (no guarantee) be able to make alternative collection arrangements. However, this applies to the retail store products only. There is absolutely no capacity for steel processing/handling/sales of any kind this weekend.

We appreciate your understanding. 🙏 We make Saturday’s work for 95% of the year to help support our community - we just can’t make it work this Saturday.

One of the most common issues we encounter when it comes to welders and generators. Check out this blog to learn what you really need to weld using a generator power.

Running your welder off a generator? It's not as simple as just plugging in.

Generator power can be characteristically 'dirty' — and without the right protection, that can cause real damage to the sensitive electronics inside inverter welders.

Weldclass has put together a thorough guide covering everything from why generator power can be problematic, to what size generator you actually need, and what to look for when buying one for site or field use.

Worth a read before your next job away from mains power.

May the fish 🎣 find your rods and the communit spirit fill your hearts.

Don’t forget to thank the committee - they spend a lot of time (and likely a little of their own $) to bring this to life for us to enjoy!

💙 A BIG THANK YOU TO THESE LEGENDS! 💙

Another great bunch of businesses, organisations and locals getting behind the Longreach Yellowbelly Fishing Classic! 🎣

We’re very lucky to have such a great community behind the Classic — and we truly appreciate every one of you.

Please share with local and regional students so they have a chance to win some $ for themselves and their school and to have their artwork featured in an annual “Farmsafe” calendar.

The Farm safety calendar competition is now open! This is a competition run by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (and is not in any way associated with Centwest, except that we think it’s a great idea 💡for regional kids to have a chance to ‘think safety’ 👷‍♀️, get creative 🎨 and possibly win some 💰!).

Queensland primary school students are encouraged to draw and colour a picture to illustrate a farm safety message.

12 winning entries will feature in the 2027 Farm safety calendar that will be distributed throughout Queensland. Winning students will also receive a $250 gift card and $500 for their school.
