Hirt Agri formed in 2006 by Stephen and Michael McCarthy, Both had been involved in traditional farming, Stephen is a past director of EA Hirt Pty Ltd and has spent 21 years cropping and then developing the potato growing operations of the company in partnership with Simplot Farming. Stephen is a diesel fitter by trade with extensive experience in the setup and maintenance of earth moving, transpo
rt and farm machinery. He assisted Simplot farming with the research & development of large scale Pivot irrigation systems throughout the Midlands area. Michael is a past manager of EA Hirt Pty Ltd in one of Tasmania’s most respected farming operations. His primary responsibility for 26 years was EA Hirt dairy operations where he built a 40 unit rotary dairy and converted the beef property into a 600 cow dairy business. Hirt Agri Currently grow 13,000 tonnes for commercial potato production on Leased land from the Midlands to Sassafrass. The business is based on building and maintaining long term relationships with clients, customers, suppliers, landowners and contractors.
