We have been having some trouble with vandalism/damage and groups who hire the SCPA hall (where we hold our playgroup) failing to leave it clean and tidy. We are not responsible for hall hire but unfortunately find ourselves cleaning up after the other groups who use it… A LOT! We spent the first half of our busy bee a few weeks ago cleaning up after someone else’s party.

A reminder that if you do hire the hall, PLEASE leave it the way you found it. Floors mopped and vacuumed, ALL rubbish collected and taken with you (our bins are not for outside use), furniture back where it came from and surfaced wiped down.

Our committee and session leaders spend a lot of time cleaning up after others and it is becoming very frustrating. Replacement of items broken by non-playgroup users is incredibly disappointing.

Please be aware our playground is designed for children aged 0-5, not older children who may exceed weight limits or handle our equipment inappropriately.

What a fantastic day at our Little Grove Playgroup Busy Bee! 🌿🐣

While the kids enjoyed making Easter baskets, hunting for eggs, and playing together, our amazing crew worked hard to give our space a big refresh. We also shared some great food and a few well-earned drinks along the way!

Here’s what we achieved together:

• Cleaned all the windows
• Tidied and organised toy storage
• Deep cleaned the bathroom
• Raked up leaves
• Removed cobwebs throughout
• Refreshed garden beds with new soil and manure
• Pulled weeds
• Cleaned behind furniture
• Vacuumed all areas
• Tidied the shed
• Cleaned and organised cubby areas

A huge THANK YOU to Kellie, Zoë, Jeremy, Megan, Jen, Lauren & Nick — your time and effort made such a difference 💛

🛝Join us from Tuesday the 13th of January at Little Grove Playgroup! Children aged 0-5 welcome!

Our sessions will run on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9.00am-11.00am. 2026 membership info will be available at our sessions and you can join us for two free sessions before signing up. Once again we are offering discounted annual memberships and the chance to win a Handasydes voucher for early sign-up (as well as term-by-term memberships).

We would love to welcome some new members for 2026 - if any Albany locals are looking for an outing to add to their children’s routine, this is a great reminder of what playgroup can offer!

A reminder to all LGPG members that the South Coast Progress Association is holding their AGM on Tuesday the 4th of November at 7.30pm. 📝

Part of your playgroup fees goes towards SCPA membership so we would love to see you there.

Our own playgroup AGM is on Sunday the 23rd of November as part of our ‘Spring Social’ which also includes a BBQ and (quick) busy-bee. We would love to have a few members join our committee for 2026. 🤞🏼
