šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ VIETNAM VETERANS’ DAY – 18 AUGUST 2026 šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ

Today, the team at Plasma Art Adelaide pauses to remember and honour all Australians who served in the Vietnam War.

This year also marks the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan — a significant chapter in Australia’s military history and a day to remember the courage, sacrifice and mateship of those who served.

Over the years, we have been incredibly fortunate to meet and work alongside many Vietnam veterans through the memorials, bench seats and commemorative projects we create.

For us, these projects are about far more than cutting and shaping steel.

They are about the people, their stories, their mates and their service.

We genuinely love working with our Vietnam veterans. The conversations, the stories and the friendships we have made along the way are something our whole team values enormously.

To every Vietnam veteran, those who never returned home, those we have since lost, and the families who stood beside them — we remember you, we respect you, and we thank you for your service.

From all of us at Plasma Art Adelaide.

Lest We Forget. šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ

FROM AN IDEA… TO STEEL.

One of the things we love most at Plasma Art Adelaide is that no two jobs through our workshop are ever quite the same.

From a bit of fun with ā€œThe Crabs Hack Welcomeā€, to a personalised property sign for The Walls, through to the incredible detail in the Royal Australian Engineers and South Coast Veterans Association pieces — every design has its own story and meaning behind it.

For us, it’s not simply about cutting a piece of steel.

It’s about taking an idea, working through the detail and creating something that means something to the person, family, organisation or community receiving it.

Some pieces make you smile.
Some represent a lifetime of hard work.
Some represent service, mateship and remembrance.

That’s what makes what we do so rewarding.

If you have an idea you’d love to see brought to life in steel, no matter how simple or detailed, we’d love to hear about it.

A custom project for the Peterborough Lions Club

We recently had the pleasure of designing and manufacturing this custom bin surround and matching signage for the Peterborough Lions Club.

The bin surround was made from Corten steel with galvanised backing, incorporating the Lions International emblem along with imagery representing Peterborough and the local area.

We also produced the matching ā€œLIONS ON MANEā€ sign, finished in the iconic Lions blue and gold, helping tie the whole project together.

We really enjoy projects like this — taking something functional and turning it into a feature that reflects the organisation and the community it belongs to.

A big thank you to the Peterborough Lions Club for trusting Plasma Art Adelaide with the project. We’re very proud to see our work installed and becoming part of the Peterborough streetscape. 🦁

There are some people you meet whose dedication, kindness and service leave a lasting impression, and Betty Crittenden is certainly one of those people.

Everyone at Plasma Art Adelaide feels incredibly honoured to have worked alongside Betty in creating the two commemorative bench seats for the Mount Evelyn Memorial. From the very beginning, her passion for remembering and honouring our veterans shone through in everything she did. It was a privilege to help bring her vision to life.

Betty’s tireless commitment to the RSL over many years has touched countless lives, making sure the stories and sacrifices of our servicemen and women are never forgotten. Her recent recognition as the RSL Australia ANZAC of the Year 2026 is a testament to that remarkable dedication. To be the only Victorian to receive this prestigious national honour this year makes the achievement even more special—and so richly deserved.

Congratulations, Betty. Thank you for trusting us to be a small part of your incredible journey and for everything you continue to do for veterans, their families, and your community.

We couldn’t be prouder to have worked with you.

We love you, Betty. ā¤ļø

It is with immense pride and gratitude that we share what an honour it was for Plasma Art Adelaide to be entrusted with creating this very special commemorative bench seat for Trojans Trek.
To know that something we have crafted will stand for generations as a place of reflection, remembrance and connection is something we never take for granted.
Today, this beautiful memorial was unveiled in honour of Moose Dunlop OAM and Dogs Kearney OAM—two remarkable veterans whose vision, leadership and unwavering commitment have positively impacted the lives of countless veterans and their families. Their legacy of service, mateship and community will continue to inspire all who visit.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Daniel Vincent, Chair of Trojans Trek, and Tim Keeffe, Deputy Chair, for placing their trust in Plasma Art Adelaide to create such a meaningful tribute. It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside you both on this project.
We were also incredibly honoured to see Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, officially unveil and dedicate the bench. It was a fitting tribute to two outstanding Australians and a very special day for everyone involved.
To everyone at Trojans Trek, thank you for allowing us to play a small part in preserving the legacy of Moose and Dogs. We hope this bench becomes a place where stories are shared, friendships are strengthened, and people take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices and service of our veterans.
Lest We Forget.

Progress Update – New Office Coming Together šŸ”§

Bit by bit, it’s all starting to take shape!

The new office is coming together nicely here at Plasma Art Adelaide — with brand new work benches installed, giving us a clean, solid space to work from.

This space will be the heart of our day-to-day operations — from designing new pieces, organising jobs, meeting with customers, and planning the next projects heading out into the community.

It might not look flashy just yet, but this is where a lot of the magic will happen… turning ideas into finished work we’re proud to deliver.

We’re building this space the same way we build our work — solid, practical, and made to last.

Plenty more to come as we keep pushing forward šŸ‘Œ

Thanks to everyone following along and supporting the journey — it means a lot to a small family business like ours.
