🎡🎆 Friday night carnival
🥚🍰🍯🎨 📷🏅Pavilion Show Day
🐓🐎 Animals & lots of free activities

The Kyneton Agricultural Show started in 1858, running every year until World War II. We've waited three years to bring you our 160th show after pausing through the pandemic and we'll be making up for lost time with our best show yet. We've kept admission at pre-pandemic prices and, this year, kids under 14 enter free! Once you're in the gates, there's hours of free fun so you don't have to spend

a fortune. We know you love the rides but there's so much more to do and see - all free! Come and see why this is one of the best country shows in the state, with all the best of tradition plus some 21st century improvements. We can't wait to see you! Come for the carnival and all the rides on the Friday night Nov. 18 from 5.30-10pm with camel rides too! Free events and activities include:
Laser tag in the hay bales
Ute muster on the oval
Dog agility demonstrations on the oval
Free whip cracking lessons and demonstrations
Meltdown challenge and live music in the marquee down near the netball courts
Fireworks on the oval at 9pm

Saturday Nov. 19 from 9am - 4pm is Show Day with all the animals to see - all free. See stud sheep, alpacas, cattle and the popular poultry pavilion, the dog show on the bottom oval and the spectacular horse competition on the main oval. Head left inside the main gate for the free zone from the Farm Shed to the marquee for hours of free fun for kids:
Kids can climb all over our Country Parkour obstacle course till they're worn out
Sheep shearing demonstrations in the Farm Shed where little ones can guess "whose poo?" and make all kinds of puppets and more to take home - all free. Pose for a photo with the cutest creatures in Farmer Darryl’s animal nursery - free
Build your own toy tractor in the Farm Workshop or craft your own creation - free
Art and craft activities, face painting, and more in the marquee - all free
Plus Paddy’s crazy bikes, free pony rides and the Lion's train
Entry in the children’s pet parade is free too! There's more free activities and events as you make your way around the oval and all the way around the Showgrounds, with plenty for grown ups too, including:

Woodchop demonstrations through the day - free
Our new Life on the Land section along the back of the oval, celebrating our agricultural history and welcoming newcomers with all sorts of advice and tips from fencing to farm security, having your own hives, experts from Agriculture Victoria and more. Check out the latest tractors and see how much technology has changed with a display of historic farm machinery too. Don't miss the huge arts and crafts competition in the Watts Pavilion, open Friday night and Saturday. Even better, enter a category or two and be part of a country show tradition that started in 1858! There are new age group sections for juniors and a separate category for 18-25 year olds for the first time. Why not make it a challenge for everyone in your house? There really is something for everyone, whatever your interest or skill, with hundreds of categories from traditional home crafts, baking, produce, and the best blooms to contemporary categories like home brew, photography, and a huge competition for LEGO masters of all ages. See our website for more information and email or message us if you have any questions or suggestions. Please be patient! We're all volunteers, busy organising the show, but we'll get back to you as soon as we can. We can't wait to see you at the show! Show office hours:

Volunteer Spotlight: Josie

For Josie, the Kyneton Show isn’t just an event, it’s been part of her life for as long as she can remember.

Growing up, she watched her father serve as President of the Kyneton Show, giving her a front-row seat to the dedication, community spirit and hard work that goes into bringing the Show to life each year.

Now a second-generation volunteer, Josie has continued that legacy, serving as our Secretary for the past 15 years and playing a vital role behind the scenes. Her passion, commitment and countless hours of volunteer work help ensure the Kyneton Show remains a place where creativity, country life, local talent and community connections can thrive.

Thank you, Josie, for everything you do. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Kyneton Show family. ❤️

If you’d like to be involved and help keep this wonderful community tradition alive, head to our website and get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!

The Kyneton Show April committee meeting definitely didn’t leave anyone hungry!

A big thank you to Ian for treating us to his award-winning carrot cake tonight, safe to say it disappeared pretty quickly! Always a great night getting together with the committee and continuing to plan another fantastic show for the community.

Sustainability is more than a goal for the Kyneton Show, it’s an ongoing commitment to our community, our environment, and future generations.

Last year, through our sustainability initiatives and community support, funds raised were proudly donated to the local Men’s Shed, helping support the incredible work they do within our region and during the show.

From reducing waste and recycling efforts, to encouraging reusable alternatives and partnering with local environmental groups, we’re committed to making every show greener than the last.

And this is only the beginning. Our sustainability project will continue to grow each year as an ongoing initiative, with the aim of creating long-term positive impact for both our community and the environment.

Thank you to everyone who supports the vision, contributes ideas, volunteers their time, and helps us make the Kyneton Show a more sustainable event year after year.

There is something truly special about the energy behind the scenes of the Show. As Louise puts it, it’s all about the friendships, the laughs, and the shared effort that brings everything together.

Volunteering here is about more than just a weekend of work, it’s about being a part of the engine that connects our whole community. There is no feeling quite like seeing the gates open and knowing you helped create that experience for everyone walking through.

We’re always looking for fresh faces to join our team. Whether you have a specific skill to share or just want to be part of the fun. It’s a hard-working group that knows how to have a laugh along the way.

Interested in joining the team?
Feel free to send us a message or visit our website to see how you can get involved. We'd love to have you!

Big wins for our little town 🏆✨

Kyneton showed up in the best way at the Victorian Agricultural Societies Group Final, hosting a beautiful day full of community, country pride, and seriously impressive talent.

A huge congratulations to our local legends:
🧶 Kim McGeachin – hand-knitted socks (proof that talent has no age)
🍰 Mabel Pearce – Junior Boiled Fruit Cake (persistence pays off!)
🥕 Ian Kohlman – Carrot Cake champion, chasing a state-level hat trick 👀

From 120+ competitors across 11 societies, these three rose to the top, now heading to the state finals at the Melbourne Show. No pressure… but we’ll be cheering VERY loudly ❤️

Proud is an understatement. This is what community spirit looks like.
