Last week’s TiE Melbourne Mixer was one of those evenings that stays with you.
The event, hosted in collaboration with Swinburne University as part of their Learning from Entrepreneurs series, brought together ideas, stories and people who are building and backing bold ventures.
🌟 The highlight for me? Listening to Neil Saligrama, the Founder & CEO of Compare & Connect, one of Australia’s largest utility comparison and connection businesses. Neil shared his incredible journey—from a call centre job to building a national business. It wasn’t just inspiring, it was real. A reminder that believing in your vision (and doing the work!) can lead to extraordinary things.
📖 We also celebrated the launch of a fantastic new book by Sameer Babbar – “The 'Benefit' Blueprint for Startup Success.” It’s packed with insights for anyone starting out or looking to grow their business. It offers grounded, practical strategies for founders - especially those navigating the early stages of building something new and is a powerful guide focused on delivering real customer value. Drawing from his deep experience, Babbar shares practical, customer-centric strategies to help startups stand out, grow sustainably, and unlock their full potential.
And of course, the evening wrapped up with a great dinner - good food, genuine conversations and memorable stories. Special thanks to Dilnaz Billimoria for sharing her brilliant energy and a few stories that had us all smiling.
