COASTAL 4X4 IS HIRING — WORKSHOP FOREMAN
Family-run, 15 years, seven of us on the floor. Work's coming in faster than we can turn it around, so we're growing to twelve — and we need someone to run the workshop while we do it.
The Foreman decides what gets built when, who's on what, and whether it's good enough to go out the door. On the tools most of the day, leading the team the whole day. Lift kits, tanks, trays and canopies, bar work, racks, electrical, lighting and custom fit-outs — working with Tough Dog, ARB, TJM, REDARC, Fox, Rhino-Rack, Lightforce and plenty more.
Qualified, experienced, good with the younger blokes and straight with us. Full-time, Jandakot.

Coastal 4x4 is a family-run workshop and we've been at it for 15 years.
We're a small crew — 7 of us — and we run things simply. You deal directly with the boss, not a manager and then a manager's manager. No corporate nonsense, no politics. You scratch our back, we scratch yours.
The team works as a unit. Everyone pitches in on everyone else's jobs, and they're genuinely mates outside the workshop too. That's not a line we put in a job ad — it's why people stay here.
Work's been coming in faster than we can turn it around, so we're growing from 7 to 12. That's a big step for a shop our size, and it means the people we bring on now will help shape what this place becomes.
The Foreman runs our workshop.
You decide what gets built when, who's on what, and whether it's good enough to go out the door. You'll be on the tools most of the day and leading the team the whole day.
Right now the boss is doing this job on top of everything else. As we go from five to ten, that stops working. We need someone who can own the floor so the business can keep growing behind them.
WHAT THE DAY ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Running the day-to-day workshop schedule and job allocation.
Fitting lift kits, fuel tanks, trays and canopies (including the occasional custom fit-out), bullbars, rear bars, roof racks, electrical setups, lights and plenty more.
Quality-checking work before vehicles go out.
Mentoring apprentices and less experienced fitters.
Working in collaboration with the front desk on job timing, parts and updates.
The gear you'll be working with
Tough Dog, Teralume, Fox, Off Road Animal, Rhino-Rack, Robinson, REDARC, Lightforce, MSA, ARB, TJM, Darche, QVEE — and plenty more. If it goes on a 4WD, chances are we fit it.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US
Facility. We have got kitchens and spaces for you to bring whatever you want, cook up a storm, whatever gets you going, we want your best.
Have a pet? We are a dog friendly environment, some of the guys bring their dogs into the workshop,we are totally happy with it. Plus it provides good company for us!
Discount on parts. You scratch our back, we scratch yours.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
Solid hands-on experience fitting 4WD gear across the board — suspension, tanks, trays and canopies, bar work, racks, electrical, lighting, custom fabrication and fit-outs. Enough of it that you're not learning on our customers' vehicles. You can look at an unfamiliar job and work out how to approach it without waiting to be told.
Comfortable across US trucks too. With RAM, Silverado and F-150 numbers climbing fast, we need someone who can build and modify these as well as the Aussie fleet — Fox and Bilstein lift kits, GVM upgrades, trays and canopies, bullbars, the lot.
You're happy to teach. We've got younger fitters coming through and they'll learn most of what they know from you. That means answering the same question twice without the sigh.
You can run a day. Reading a week's work, sequencing it, spotting the job that's going to blow out before it blows out. Keeping things moving when parts don't turn up or a vehicle throws a surprise.
You deal straight with us. We're an easy-going shop and we deal directly — no going through three people. That works because everyone's upfront. If something's wrong, a job's behind, or you've made a mistake, we want to hear it from you first.
