This is a nozzle holder, for a hydromulch truck I made (they spray all the green stuff you see on the embankments in construction sites).
It had to be compact, and be able to secure the nozzles so they dont fall out during transport, and be safe with no sharp edges. I made is so could simply be clipped over the existing safety rail. I also made a poker to clear line blockages and the end nozzle rod can be used to clear a blocked nozzles in a hurry.
Really happy how this prototype turned out, I did a quick sketch and measure on site and had it made that afternoon.

I had a very out of shape hopper on a screening plant that needed some love. I made my own do***ng plates and wedges. Then with the help of a come-along and BFG🔨 we gradually pulled the warped steel back into place and welded back together.
I have met some amazing people in my life, who I have been lucky enough to show me so many tips, tricks.

Cracking out the old stick welder and smashing through the hard facing rods. Hard facing laid down on all the main contact points and some new cutting edges to extend the life of the bucket.

My yard is getting a good collection of prototypes, and it's great to see the Corten Steel doing its thing after the recent rain. The lantern has been out the longest and has a great patina. Once you have your desired effect, you can coat them in Penetrol. It will give it a rich red look and a yearly coat will make them last many, many years.

Between life and a new job, it's been a while since I've been able to spend some time in the shed. Quick draw and cut a pair of Echinda's from Corten Steel.

Something a bit different to normal.
I wanted to share a product from PFERD TOOLS Australia that has saved me so much time and money, and hopefully it can do the same for others. The Polyclean discs are great for removing millscale, light rust and paint from steel without leaving grinding marks like traditional grinding wheels and flap discs. Also great when you want to strip or clean some steel without removing alot of the parent metal. Thanks also to Aitken Welding Supplies for putting me on to these and all the other Pferd products I now use.

From a conversation with a friend to a freehand sketch, the manual cutting, heat colouring, and finished with 5 coats of paint.
It's hard to show just how much time goes into making something like this by hand, definitely not the easiest of hobbies, but I love watching each one take shape.

Light/number plate bar I made for a friend. The bike rack didn't come with a light bar so to make it compliant, we made a quick release bar. We had to make, paint, and wire up the bar. Weld the ends of the frame, nutsert threads into the ends, run hidden wiring through the frame to keep it neat and tangle free. This bar takes about 10 seconds to remove.
I also had to make/machine a new hitch mounting bolt as the original one was too short.

Love getting photos of my creations in final position.

Those who know me know I love good quality tools, especially vintage tools. I jumped on my vintage American made belt driven Atlas lathe. (It's been a while). This lathe is over 80 years old. It's not perfect, but does what I need to do and I hope to restore it one day.
Today, I made a new bike rack mounting bolt for a friend. The one that was supplied was too short for their hitch, so I machined down, tapped & drilled a longer bolt to suit.
