A nice project recently completed at the Tweed Heads Tip for Alder Constructions.

These custom gates and fencing panels were fabricated and installed by the BIA Engineering team as part of the finished works on site.

We enjoy seeing projects come together from the workshop floor through to final installation, especially when the finished product adds both function and visual appeal to the site.

Thanks to Alder Constructions for having us involved.

The weather has been putting everything to the test lately 😅

Finished up these handrails and the two front posts for this project, and we’re pretty happy with how clean this one came up.

Simple jobs done properly still make a big difference.

On site, things change fast.

Even when everything looks right on paper, once installation starts, small issues can pop up and slow things down.

Up on site in Tweed Heads this week working through some structural steel.

Site work always comes with a few challenges. Things change, access can be tight, and plans don’t always go exactly how you expect. The key is being there to deal with it straight away and keep things moving.

We stay involved on site, fix issues early, and make sure the job keeps progressing.

Also… pretty nice beach down here 🌊

Another school project underway 👷‍♂️

We’re currently working on balustrades and handrails, coordinating with site and keeping things moving smoothly around other trades.

Good planning upfront makes a big difference on jobs like this.

Not everything goes to plan on site, and that is just part of construction.

But waiting around does not fix anything.

Delays cost money, small issues turn into rework, and poor communication slows the whole job down.

On most installs, site conditions do not always match the drawings.
That is where problem solving becomes important.

At BIA Engineering, we focus on:
• Understanding what is actually happening on site
• Communicating clearly with everyone involved
• Fixing issues early before they become bigger problems

That is how projects stay on track and get delivered properly.

One thing you quickly learn in construction is that site conditions rarely match the drawings exactly.

Levels change, walls aren’t always perfectly straight, and concrete finishes can vary.

That’s why experience and planning matter before steel fabrication even starts.

When things are thought through early, installation on site becomes much smoother.

It’s all about getting it right from the beginning.

New tool on site at BIA Engineering.

Some measurements on site can be tricky, especially when the point is high up or at an awkward angle and normally needs a ladder to reach.

We’ve recently started using a laser distance measurer to make those measurements easier and more accurate. It helps capture angles and distances quickly and makes the whole measuring process a lot smoother.

Small upgrade, but it definitely makes site work easier.
