☕ Small Town, Big Impact! $6,656 Raised! ✨

The official numbers are in, and we are absolutely blown away! Last Thursday, we welcomed around 80 people to our office for our 6th Annual Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, matching our all-time attendance record.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised a grand total of $6,656 for the Cancer Council! 🏆 This pushes our six-year total to a massive $36,794 in the fight against cancer.

From moving stories shared by our guest speaker Elly Poletti to passionate words from Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor Brett Tessari, it was a morning filled with community spirit, full cups, and open hearts.

❤️ A Massive Thank You To:

Everyone who came along, shared a cuppa, and donated.

Our 30+ incredible local business sponsors who donated raffle and auction prizes to keep our hosting costs low.

The amazing Deery Consulting team for pulling it all together.

Growth never stops at Deery Consulting! 🌱✨

How do we keep delivering top-tier engineering outcomes? By actively investing in ongoing professional development and encouraging our team to hunt for smarter, more adaptable solutions.

Our engineering team recently leveled up their expertise on modular stormwater solutions with a brilliant, deep-dive presentation on ACO Australia's StormBrixx system. For us, these sessions go way beyond a product pitch—they are a chance to refine our toolkit for tight urban developments. 🏗️🏙️

A few key takeaways our team is bringing to our low-rise residential and commercial projects:
🔹 Efficiency first: Maximising the design advantages of high void ratios and modular configurations.
🔹 Early coordination: Ensuring seamless collaboration between structural, hydraulic, and architectural documentation from day one.
🔹 Long-term thinking: Moving past basic compliance to prioritise access and maintainability in underground detention design.

When our engineers keep learning, our clients win. A huge thank you to Rochelle Ramage at ACO Australia for a genuinely insightful session and for backing it up with the top-tier technical resources our team needs to hit the ground running! 🚀📈

We love hosting student placements! This week, we welcomed Jaidon, a Year 10 student from Bass Coast College to our office for his work experience week. 📐

Jaidon dived straight into the world of structural and civil engineering, learning about what we do every day. He was a pleasure to have around, bringing a huge smile and great enthusiasm with him everyday.

Here are a few photos of Jaidon and the staff from throughout the week! 👇

We wish you all the best with your future studies, Jaidon. We hope we’ve inspired a future engineer! 📐🏢

Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to our Bass Coast community 🌸

Today, the structural drawings and laptops are away while our team takes the time to celebrate the mothers in our lives.

In engineering, we often talk about the importance of a strong foundation. Today, we recognise the women who provide the strongest foundations of all — our mums.

From the mothers within our own office to the mums of our team members and those across our wider community, we thank you for the strength and support you provide.

Whether you are catching up over a coffee in Mirboo North, walking the beach at Inverloch, or spending the day with family at home, we hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Mother’s Day from the team at Deery Consulting.

When the structure is the centerpiece, the engineering has to be well considered.

Our work on the Lamezleighs Coffee House & Eatery additions in Mirboo North is a favorite example of architectural engineering. Beyond the aesthetic, this project presented several unique structural challenges that required a bespoke approach:

The Truss Logic: We designed the timber connections to manage complex axial and shear loads, ensuring the striking roofline remains rock-solid.

Overcoming Discontinuity: A key feature was the bottom chord splice connection. Because of the member discontinuity, we had to carefully engineer the splice to maintain structural integrity without compromising the clean lines of the timber.

Material Integrity: Cypress timber for the trusses was chosen for its natural durability and resilience, it’s a material that handles the regional Victorian climate beautifully, even in semi-exposed conditions.

Foundation & Stability: The timber posts aren’t just for show—they provide the primary stability for the building. We upgraded the base connections accordingly to ensure the load paths were secure from the roof down to the ground.

Wind Resilience: That beautiful feature brick wall? It’s reinforced and specifically engineered to provide wind stability, acting as a structural anchor for the new addition.

It’s a project where every bolt and plate serves a purpose. We love seeing our technical solutions provide the backdrop for a thriving local business.

Planning a commercial renovation with a feature structure? Let’s engineer something worth showing off.

Today, we pause to honor the service and sacrifice of the ANZACs who served our country.

From the cenotaphs here on the Bass Coast to the memorials in every town across Australia and New Zealand, we stand together to remember those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.

At Deery Consulting, we are proud to be part of a community built on the values of courage, mateship, and resilience.

Lest we forget.

Engineered in the Bass Coast. Built for Victoria. 🏗️🌊

From the rugged cliffs of Cape Paterson to the sweeping plains of regional Victoria, the environment dictates the design.

While our roots are firmly planted in the Bass Coast, our engineering footprint reaches across the state. Operating in one of Australia’s most demanding coastal corridors has sharpened our approach to every project we touch.

Inverloch gives us a front-row seat to the unique challenges of coastal environments. Whether it’s managing salt spray corrosion or designing for high wind loads, our local environment keeps our engineering sharp and our solutions resilient.

Whether we are working on iconic community landmarks like the Cape Paterson SLSC or bespoke residential frames tucked into the dunes, we apply a "coastal-tough" mindset to every project across Victoria.

We don't just design for the "now"—we design for the decades of weather to come.

Looking for engineering that understands the elements? Let’s connect.

🔍 Can you guess where we have been? 🏏

Traditional white picket fence. Lush green oval. Local recreation reserve classic.

Swipe to see if you’re right... ➡️

Yes, it's the H.C. Berry Reserve in Glen Alvie!

We are working alongside the team from Andrew Donohue Building Design to facilitate some internal changes.

It’s always a privilege to work on local sites steeped in so much history—just look at those original gates! We love playing our part in ensuring these community hubs stay strong for the next generation of locals. 🏗️📐
