Grandvewe Cheeses/Hartshorn Distillery is seeking a full-time staff member to join the kitchen team at our cellar door in Birchs Bay. This is a role for someone who is passionate about quality produce and has a love of food. This is a kitchen supervisor role so you will need to be efficient, organised and confident in directing and leading other members of the kitchen team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about producing quality food while having the essential skills to work within a budget and adhere to our no wastage policy. You need to be a person who takes pride in their work, loves working apart of a team and is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
In the kitchen you will be responsible for:
• The daily running of kitchen operations and report directly to the Cellar Door Manager, Production Manager and the shift supervisor.
• Kitchen food preparation following all kitchen preparation procedures.
• The serving of café food and platters with a focus on outstanding presentation and attention to detail.
• Kitchen produce stocktaking and ordering.
• Keeping the kitchen hygienic
• Have a continued creative input into menu items.
• Overall time management and time management of junior staff members.
To be successful in this position you will be:
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and able to work within a dynamic team environment as well as autonomously.
• Highly organised with an attention to detail.
• Well groomed.
• Committed to providing memorable customer experiences in our cellar door café.
• Able to work in a busy environment and an ability to multi-task.
• Able to work quickly and efficiently every shift.
• Physically capable of managing consistent labour (lifting up to 16kg) and using safe manual handling practices.
• Available to work a flexible roster including weekends.
