Over the weekend, one of Hammersmith’s own took part in the Barossa Marathon Festival completing the 21.1km Half Marathon in 1hr 46min 05sec…

Jarrod was stoked with the time, and this week, has certainly been walking around the office a little slower than usual 😂

The ultimate holiday house...

Incredibly impressed (and quite jealous) of how fantastic Grant's holiday house has turned out after years of work. The stainless steel handrailing and wire balustrading on the balcony and down to the pontoon both look incredible and definitely something to be proud of.

We have now begun selling into New Zealand!

“In May this year, I went to New Zealand for the first time and spent 4 weeks in a car driving around both the North and South Islands.

New Zealand is stunningly beautiful, and the landscape varies so dramatically as you traverse both islands.

I also loved the architecture of the housing, particularly the older homes, which were predominantly timber and featured decorative elements on the gables, eaves, and verandahs.

What struck me was that there are a lot of timber fences, but in many cases, fence post capitals were not used, or where they did exist, they were old and desperately in need of replacing.

It was for this reason that I thought it was a great opportunity to offer products in the New Zealand market that sell very well in Australia.”

Words can’t really do justice to the impact that Peter has had over his 52 years at Hammersmith.

Starting as a teenager and working with 4 generations of the Groth family; Peter has seen so many changes over those 52 years, many of which he has played a large part in implementing.

In Wyatt's opinion, Peter's biggest legacy is his huge contribution to cutter head building which allowed Hammersmith to compete with other wood turners from interstate.

Peter will be deeply missed at Hammersmith. Much of his knowledge will never be able to be fully replaced, but the fact that he was able to dedicate 52 years of his working life to helping Hammersmith produce quality timber products is an awesome legacy to leave behind.
