Jayden dropped into Ali & Steel Worx yesterday and saw the Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation ranger vessel "Manambadda" in for a refit and running repairs.

"Manambadda", meaning warrior in the Worrorra language, is an aluminium 9.3m Air Rider in NSCV 2C survey. Originally launched in South Australia as a fishing vessel in early 2009, the vessel now performs ranger duties is northwest WA.

We have nearly completed the 3D structural model for this robust 16.8m expedition dive catamaran. From here, we export and clean up parts that can be pre-cut, ready for nesting onto digitial aluminium sheets.

2026 marks 30 years since we designed the 60' cray boat "En-Rybo"! These photos are from the original sea trials and are still some of our favourites.

When Jamie O’Byrne ordered “En-Rybo”, the order was definite … High bow freeboard, good beam and excellent load carrying.
In 1996, this was the first of many GMD designed aluminium cray boats professionally assembled by Fine Entry Marine of Geraldton W.A.

“En-Rybo” (being the O’Byrne name spelt backwards), raised the standard for aluminium rock lobster vessels when built in 1996. The incredible flare and deep forefoot made for the ultimate fast lobster vessel, but combining that with twin keels, she set new standards in following sea tracking and safety.

There’s not much that this one hasn’t been through, all with flying colours.

“Ada Clara” is a 26.2m Multi Role vessel we designed in 2017 and remains a standout in our catalogue. She was built to a beautiful standard by Shoreline Marine Fabrication in Henderson, Western Australia. Originally working as a wet liner, now as a hydrographic survey workboat.

It's just ticked over 10 years since Fine Entry Marine launched the 18.9m (62') rock lobster vessel, "Opah". Still one of the favourites amoung the cray boats we've designed over the years.

Happy New Year everyone! We’re working on a 10.6m x 4.3m Charter Fishing Catamaran for Deep Sea Fishing Co. Noosa in Noosa.

Designed to NSCV 1C for 16 passengers and 2 crew, the vessel features our twin chine offshore catamaran hull with plumb bow and generous tunnel clearance.

Construction is underway at Commercial Marine Australia on this compact 10m NSCV 2C work catamaran. Progress is fast and neat so we're looking forward to watching this one come together.
