Structural fabrication completed for an electrical infrastructure project.
Scope of works included:
• 7 RMU frames
• 6 transformer bases
• 1 transformer base modified to suit increased load requirements

48 pieces to make 14 frames altogether.

All components fabricated and assembled in-house and prepared for hot-dip galvanising prior to installation.

Cutting, folding tig welding and hardfacing all completed today...

Today we completed a set of underbody boxes and mudguards out of aluminium. Customer to install locks and hinges.

Cut and fold some angles out of 3mm steel and cut some 10mm base plates.

Hard facing some spots on a shaft which took a while as we could overheat it due to bearings and seals being damaged inside.

Did you know at JDS STEEL FABRICATION not only do we fabricate for ourselves, but we also help other small businesses or individuals. We cut and fold material in stainless, aluminium and steel upto 25mm thick. If you're in need of any help why not give us a call for your next project.

No job is too small or too large with our 1.5m x 3m CNC SWIFT-CUT PLASMA CUTTER and our 3.1m BAYKAL 120ton CNC PRESSBRAKE. We also do our own CAD drawings in-house so you know you can trust us minalising any errors. Don't forget our welding capabilities in MIG AND TIG!!!

Stainless work this week with a couple of small mistakes here and there, but we are only human.

"You can only go forward by making mistakes"

We had a customer bring in a stainless panel that needed two holes for his lights.

Some tank skirts that needed to be remade we did make a small mistake, which was a 5 mm misplaced hole for the lights, but luckily, we can fix and hide our mistakes, so there is no big loss there. But hey, I guess that's business.

Some other stainless pieces and bits.

Some teeth/plates that needed some build-up and grind flush.

Finally, a small repair to an excavator ram cover needed to be straightened out.
