When we say Harden Bearings is a family business, we really mean it.

From the very beginning, our family has been part of the journey.

Back when Mum and Dad were first starting the business, one of the very first business plans was actually completed as a school business studies assessment.
At the time, it was simply another piece of homework, but looking back now, it's a reminder of how closely our family's story and the business's story have always been connected.

Over the years, countless family members have played a role in helping build what Harden Bearings is today. Brothers, sisters, in-laws, children, nieces and nephews have all contributed in different ways. Whether working in the business, helping behind the scenes, lending a hand during busy periods, or simply supporting the journey.

We're incredibly proud of what Mum and Dad started all those years ago, and grateful to everyone who has been part of the story along the way.

Because behind every family business is a family that helped build it. ❤️

A huge congratulations to the Sacred Syndicate SMC Hume Chapter
on another incredibly successful Blanket Run held on Saturday, raising an amazing $2344 for Zac's Place Inc. Australia and Can Assist Harden 👏

We were proud to be one of the many local businesses supporting the day, alongside so many generous community-minded sponsors.

This one was extra special for us too, with the run organised by one of our very own — Mick.
To see the effort, organisation, community spirit and support behind this event was something to be proud of.

Well done to everyone involved, the riders who turned up and dug deep, the businesses who donated prizes and support, and the volunteers who helped make the day happen.

Before Harden Bearings & Hardware there was Harden Bearing Service.

30 years ago, Dad saw a gap in our local community that needed filling.

After years of farming and managing properties in the district, he knew firsthand the frustrations local farmers, transport operators and tradespeople faced when something broke down.

Sometimes all you needed was a small part — a bearing, a pulley, a V-belt or even a simple 20-cent O-ring — but getting it often meant an hour round trip to Young.

Time off the farm.
Time off the road.
Lost productivity.
More cost.

And in industries like agriculture and transport, downtime matters.

So Dad decided to bring those services closer to home.

What started as Harden Bearing Service was built around supporting the people who keep rural communities moving, like our farmers, truck drivers, mechanics, contractors, workshops and local businesses.

Hydraulic hoses.
Mechanical repairs.
Bearings.
Pulleys.
Tools.
Problem solving.
And a willingness to help wherever possible.

Looking back now, it’s pretty incredible to think that what began with one person recognising a need in the community became the foundation for everything that followed over the next 30 years.

And perhaps that’s the heart of small business in rural communities.
Often the best businesses aren’t created by chasing trends.
They’re built by people who genuinely understand the needs of the community they live in and want to make life a little easier for the people around them.
