Week 4 | 1989 – Built to Last

In 1989, Hayes Spraying made the move to full-time manufacturing from our commercial Gunn Street workshop, marking the beginning of a new chapter. What started in a modest workshop quickly grew into a business dedicated to designing and building equipment Australian farmers could rely on season after season.

More than 35 years later, while we’ve grown well beyond Gunn Street, the values that shaped us there remain unchanged quality craftsmanship, practical innovation and equipment built for Australian conditions.

Innovation isn’t about following trends, it’s about solving real problems.

In 1979, Hayes Spraying introduced a breakthrough flexible suspended boom design that quickly earned a reputation as the most durable boom ever built. Designed and tested in tough Australian farming conditions, it set a new benchmark for reliability and performance in the field.
