New product drop
Sea chest
Had quite a few enquiries after the video I posted the other day so I'll try my best to explain the advantages.
A sea chest is a dedicated, watertight reservoir that gets fitted below the waterline that draws and distributes seawater to live bait tanks/live wells, deck washes, bait tubes, tuna tubes, cooling systems for generators etc etc. basically anything that needs water on your vessel.
Having a primed box eliminates the chances of pump air locks and also keeps them cooler which will enhance the lifespan greatly of your expenses pumps. It will eliminate air in your bait tank which is the number one killer of live baits believe it or not.
Having a centralised box keeps plumping and wiring a lot more tidy and will make maintenance and troubleshooting a whole lot easier especially at sea.
Having one water pick up point in your hull has a huge advantage over multiple especially for the safety side of things. Less holes in your boat the better.
I use vinyl ester resin combined with high quality glass and composite core materials to enhance the lifespan and the piece of mind knowing it's completely waterproof, won't ever rot or fall apart.
With a 10mm marine grade cast acrylic viewing window combined with a 3mm rubber gasket and more 316 stainless bolts than you could poke a stick they aren't just practical but don't look to bad either.
These boxes are huge in the US and it's hard to find a boat without one. Definitely worth having a quick Google search if your interested.
I can custom build these to any shape or size you require for as many pumps you need to fit on any space you have for internal or external pumps.
Once I get a feel for the market Il probably make moulds for a 2 pump and 3 pump box also.
If you want to see this one up and running with a bunch of my tubes it will be in Harper marine groups beautiful imported 25 foot centre console on the water at the Simard stand at next week.
