⚠️ A worker in Victoria tragically lost their life yesterday after an elevated work platform came into contact with an overhead powerline.
Our thoughts are with their family, friends, and workmates.
It's a heartbreaking reminder that powerlines remain one of the biggest hazards on construction and civil worksites.
Whether you're operating a crane, EWP, telehandler, concrete boom, or tipper truck, take a moment to ask:
✔️ Have all overhead powerlines been identified?
✔️ Are exclusion zones in place?
✔️ Is an electrical spotter required?
✔️ Does everyone understand the safety controls?
When people are focused on the job, loads, deadlines, and machinery movements, it only takes one moment of lost awareness for a serious incident to occur.
That's why electrical spotters are so important. They're an extra set of eyes helping operators and crews work safely around overhead powerlines.
At James Tech, we provide qualified electrical spotters across Queensland for construction, civil, and infrastructure projects.
