💙👕 Free Dress Fridays at My Plumbing Man 👕💙

Most Fridays, Glen swaps his work uniform for one of his colourful TradeMutt shirts.

If you’ve ever seen one and thought, “That’s a bright shirt!” … that’s exactly the point.

TradeMutt was created to start conversations around mental health, particularly within the trades and construction industries where too many people still struggle in silence.

The shirts are designed to be conversation starters.
Someone comments on the shirt, a chat begins, and sometimes that simple conversation can open the door to checking in on a mate, asking how someone’s really going, or letting someone know they’re not alone.

At My Plumbing Man, we believe looking after people is just as important as looking after plumbing.

🚨 PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM GLEN 🚨

Glen would like to issue a formal apology following yesterday’s plumbing incident.

Firstly, to Kylee, he is sorry for arriving home looking like he had been involved in some sort of Smurf related accident.

Secondly, he would like it known that the blue hands were not the result of poor hygiene, poor decisions or recreational arts and crafts.

They were caused by a particularly aggressive blue loo block during a cistern repair.🟦

Kylee would like it noted that Glen spent several minutes insisting his hands were “barely blue.”

The photo has determined this was inaccurate.

Glen maintains the cistern was at fault.

The cistern has declined to comment.

Big week here at My Plumbing Man 🙌

Yesterday we welcomed two new work placement students to the team 👏

Anastacia joins us from TAFE Queensland and will be working alongside us 2 days a week over the next few months to complete her placement hours. A pretty special moment for us as she’s the first female placement student to join the My Plumbing Man crew 💪🔧

We’re really proud to support more women entering the trades and excited to help give Anastacia hands-on experience across maintenance plumbing, renovations, hot water systems, leak investigations, quoting, customer service and everything that comes with the industry day to day 😊

We also welcomed Liam from Gold Coast Trades College who has started a 2 week placement with us. Liam jumped straight in getting a look at real day-to-day plumbing work out in the field and around the office.

Today Liam teamed up with Alistair, who is still finishing off his own placement hours with us over the next few weeks 👏 It’s been great seeing the students learning together, asking questions and getting involved in all aspects of the trade.

We’re proud to be able to help support the next generation coming through the plumbing industry 😊

What a week for Noah ⭐️
This week we’ve had Noah from the The Industry School join us for work experience, and what a week it’s been! 👏🔧

Noah has been working alongside Alastair, who is still finishing off his placement hours with us, and together they’ve been getting some real hands-on experience in the plumbing industry 👌

Over the week Noah has learned about:

✔️ Leak repairs
✔️ Servicing hot water systems
✔️ Renovation disconnections
✔️ Gas quoting
✔️ Assisting with a Heat Pump installation
✔️ Rebuilding toilet cisterns
✔️ Bathroom renovations
✔️ Vanity installations
✔️ Swapping out a 50L hot water system from a very tight cupboard space 😅
✔️ Quotes, problem solving, client communication and plenty more!

It’s been fantastic watching both boys get involved, ask questions and build confidence out on site.

A huge thank you as well to all of our amazing clients who have welcomed them onto site and supported them while they learn the ropes. We really appreciate it 😊

We genuinely enjoy helping students gain real industry experience and showing them what day-to-day plumbing work is really like.
