Here’s a simplified overview of some commonly recognised industry certifications often seen within the automotive repair sector:

🇺🇸 CAPA (Certified Automotive Parts Association)

Commonly associated with:

🚗 BLEEDER PIPE vs OVERFLOW PIPE
Yes… they are NOT the same thing 😄

We get a lot of customers asking for:
“that little radiator hose thingy…”

Fair enough — these two pipes get mixed up all the time.

Here’s the easy way to tell the difference 👇

🔹 BLEEDER PIPE
= Lets AIR escape from the cooling system

Usually:
✔ Small thin hose
✔ Located near the TOP of the radiator
✔ Helps remove trapped air
✔ Often has a small constant coolant flow

Think of it as:
👉 “The cooling system breathing.”

🔹 OVERFLOW PIPE
= Lets EXTRA coolant out

Usually:
✔ Connected near the radiator cap/neck
✔ Only flows when pressure gets high
✔ Releases excess coolant when hot/full

Think of it as:
👉 “The system saying: alright mate… that’s enough coolant 😅”

QUICK TIP 👨‍🔧

If the hose has a small steady flow all the time:
➡ Probably the BLEEDER pipe

If it only spits coolant out when hot or overfilled:
➡ Probably the OVERFLOW pipe

Don’t panic! 😅 Fitting a BA/BF XR8 Style Bonnet? Read this first.

We hear it all the time – "The bonnet is defective! The hinge bolts won't go in!" Relax, it’s not broken, and you’re not doing it wrong.

The "Dirty Secret" of Falcon Bonnets: 🛠️
Even genuine Ford/FPV bonnets use thread-forming hinge bolts. The reinforcement plates inside aren't always pre-threaded. The bolts are designed to cut their own threads during the very first install.

Yes, it sounds horrible. You’ll hear squeaking, cracking, and feel high resistance – enough to make you question your life choices for 30 seconds! 😂 But as long as:
✅ Your bolts are going in straight.
✅ Hinge alignment is correct.
✅ You’re NOT using a rattle gun at full power!

Why "Bad Fitment" isn't always the bonnet's fault:
A lot of aftermarket XR8 bonnets actually fit great. Most complaints we see are usually down to:

Old Falcons with hidden previous front-end repairs.

Worn hinges or guards/headlights that are already slightly out.
