AEP Automotive is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Service Advisor / Workshop Coordinator to join our growing automotive team.

This is a hands-on role that will see you acting as the key link between our customers and workshop team, ensuring jobs are booked, managed, communicated and delivered efficiently from start to finish.

About the Role:
As our Service Advisor, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day workflow of the workshop while providing exceptional customer service throughout the repair and maintenance process.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage workshop bookings and scheduling of vehicles
• Liaise with customers regarding service requirements, progress updates and completion timeframes
• Prepare quotations and service estimates
• Order and coordinate parts and materials required for workshop jobs
• Create and manage job cards and workshop documentation
• Coordinate vehicle drop-offs and collections
• Monitor workshop workflow and assist in prioritising jobs
• Communicate with technicians and management regarding job status and requirements
• Process invoices and ensure accurate job costing information is captured
• Maintain customer records and service history information
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
• Previous experience in a Service Advisor, Automotive Administration, Workshop Controller or similar role (preferred)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and prioritise competing demands
• Strong computer skills and confidence using business systems
• Professional presentation and a positive attitude
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable:
• Experience within an automotive, mechanical, auto electrical or vehicle service environment
• Experience with workshop management systems
• Knowledge of vehicle servicing and repairs
• Experience preparing quotations and ordering parts

AEP Engineering is seeking a skilled Contract Welder to join our team in Townsville.

This role will involve welding and fabrication work across a range of steel and aluminium components used in automotive and engineering applications.
This position is offered on a contractor basis, so applicants MUST hold a current ABN.

Key Responsibilities:
• MIG and TIG welding of steel and aluminium components
• Fabrication and modification of parts and assemblies
• Reading and interpreting drawings where required
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
• Working collaboratively with our workshop and engineering teams

Requirements:
• Proven welding experience with steel and aluminium
• Ability to work independently and maintain quality standards
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with Cobot or Robotic welding systems (Preferred but not essential)

Proud moment for our team at AEP Engineering.
Over the past year we’ve taken an idea through to a proof-of-concept demonstrator for a blast and ballistic survivability capsule architecture for light vehicle platforms — built to validate build logic, interfaces, and the pathway to a prototype and formal testing.
A huge part of this has been working with Mr Jacobus (“Koos”) De Wet. His survivability experience and straight engineering discipline have made a real difference.
Here’s the frustration: we have zero funded pathway to test this in Australia. The design is prototype-ready — but without access to testing, capability can’t be proven.
