The first of two new, IMC designed 53-metre ATB tugs for Mineral Resources has recently been launched and inclined at the Cosco shipyard in Guangdong.
The tugs are designed to operate with the final two of the Mineral Resources iron ore transhippers, which IMC has also designed.

Alcyone II, a 24-meter fishing vessel, berthed at Kailis in Fremantle at the end of its recent refit. Originally designed as a longliner by IMC Naval Architects, it is now owned by Brown Dog Fishing Co. and operates in Western Australia's trap fishery. The boat is currently powered by its third Caterpillar 3412C engine, with a total of approx. 114,000 engine hours.

The Minres Odin, previously the Mermaid Sound, has undergone a transformation at ASL Shipyard. With design by IMC Naval Architects, it has been converted into an articulated tug/barge (ATB) pusher tug with the addition of Articouple couplers and sponsons. Originally designed by IMC Naval Architects and delivered in 2007, this tug will soon be operating in conjunction with the IMC-designed iron ore transshipment barges for the Mineral Resources Onslow Iron project.

The Chilean Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture 30.8 metre inshore oceanographic and fisheries research vessel, DRA Barbieri, has been launched at ASENAV shipyard in Chile. The vessel design was undertaken by IMC Naval Architects in Fremantle in conjunction with NavalPRO in Chile. Congratulations to ASENAV and NavalPRO in bringing this project to fruition.
